Week in Review (June 25 - July 1)

Tuesday (18,685 steps) - Spent all day debating if I wanted to go Milk Market or to Coohills for the Roost run. At the last minute I decided to go to Coohills because I figured more people would go there. I ended up walking two miles with Monica - and it was nice to catch up with her, haven't seen her in a while. Appetizers were good, and I did not win the raffle. Wah.

Wednesday (23,459 steps) - Core class before work. Picked up A and headed to Runners Roost Boulder. We had plans to drive to the trail head to cut out the early/end road miles. Luckily, that was what Tyler had planned as well. We run Bear/Mesa/Skunk loop, and even though it felt slow, I actually had some segment PR's.

Stopped at the fancy King Soopers on the way home, frozen pizza for dinner.
Thursday (5,802 steps) - Black Hills 100
Friday (89,262 steps) - Black Hills 100
Saturday (27,473 steps) - Black Hills 100
Sunday (10,588 steps) - Alarm went off at a ridiculous hour, but since I had gone to bed so early, it was fine. I was on the road by 6 am, stopped to get gas in Spearfish, then headed back to Denver. Drove through some crazy fog in South Dakota and Wyoming, but otherwise fairly uneventful... until I hit northern Colorado. Literally bumper to bumper traffic all the day from Fort Collins to Denver. Pleasantly surprised to get home to a very clean house. Showered and unpacked. Ben and I went to 4 Noses, then picked up A and took her to her scout meeting. Found a new brewery - Wonderland - where we got a beer and nachos.
Picked up wings for dinner, then took Pika for a walk.

In bed early because I was exhausted. Again.
Monday (11,983 steps) - Actually slept pretty good! Work was pretty much a nightmare because the attorney I'm on a temp assignment for apparently ignored my out-of-office email and sent me a ton of stuff to do when I was out. Grrr. Got out of work on time - met Ben and A at home and then we went to the new Alamo Drafthouse in Westminster to see Toy Story 4 (which was actually really cute and funny).
It was also pretty amazing that they were doing 50% off food during their opening/training week. Took Pika for a walk after.

Stats:
  • 187,252 steps
  • 67.1 miles run (womp)
  • 2 gym classes, a few walks

Week in Review (December 11 - December 17)

Tuesday (16,834 steps) - Woke up at the ungodly hour of 4 am. I don't know what's wrong with me that this happens. By 5 I hadn't fallen back asleep, so I went for a run. It was REALLY warm for December, and I regretted wearing Smartwool and a jacket. Balmy!!
Strength class with my trainer at lunch. He has been trying to find harder exercises for me since he thinks I'm not getting any benefit from "regular" stuff. Good class.
Left work a bit early to drive to Idaho Springs to meet Ben for dinner/drinks at Tommyknockers. Although I should be eating "better," I couldn't resist the "build your own" Mac n' Cheese, so I got mine with green chili pork. So delicious!!

Wednesday (19,710 steps) - Annual holiday lights run with Runners Edge! A walked with Janet and Pete and I ran with Mo and Colfax. Weather was perfect (again) - and we stuck around for a beer and nachos.

Thursday (14,413 steps) - Core class during lunch. Belmar run club - was bummed when I realized it was the Newton Ugly Sweater run and I totally didn't prepare for it. Ran my 5K with Mo and Colfax.

Friday (14,929 steps) - Jared sent me a text during lunch asking if I had brought clothes to run in - when I said yes, he said I should meet him and Sean for a run... so I did. Those boys are fast! It was fun to run with them, and it was a welcome surprise to have a beer after.
Still trying to figure out 1. my face and 2. why Jared is mooning Sean

Picked up A and went to BP to watch the Kilian Jornet Everest flick - it was pretty good! Quick aid station prep before bed.
Saturday (25,981 steps) - Runners Edge! David wasn't in town so our pace leaders got us out on time. I wasn't sure how far I wanted to run, but ended up doing 10 (and the fastest I have ever run on the Highline!)

Had to wait around a bit because A had my keys and had gone to breakfast with Pete and Janet. Once home, boiled and mashed potatoes, showered. Headed over to Kristin's house because her and Doug had offered me a VIP ticket to... BEER FESTIVUS!! We took a Lyft downtown (and unfortunately realized that there was also a Broncos game, so prices were high and traffic was awful). Looking back, I made some rookie mistakes and did not pace myself well.... it was SO MUCH FUN.

Amy, me & Holly
Lexa, Kristin and me
Got home around 5:45, grabbed A and headed down to Belmar for Second (actually this month was Third) Saturday. Dinner was amazing, and we stuck around playing Mexican Bingo, until I realized it was already 10 and we needed to get to bed.

Sunday (21,634 steps) - Was regretting that we had agreed to meet people for a run, but at least we had decided on 9, and not 8. Got to Kristin's house, met up with the gang and ran a fairly enjoyable 8 miles around the lake. Doug had prepared a pretty amazing breakfast for us all!

The rest of the day was some chores and a LOT of TV, with Torchy's thrown in because I never went to the store for groceries this week.
Monday (14,313 steps) - Wasn't sure what the plan for the evening was. I was either going to be going to Coohills for the Roost ugly sweater run (but having to leave early because A had Scouts), or Ben was going to be coming down. I decided to get my run in during lunch before taking core. It was actually a great run, even though it was interrupted by CDOT calling me about my tire claim... from September.
Ben wasn't going to be able to come down, so I did briefly stop by Coohills on my way home. Much smaller showing than in previous years!
I somehow got talked into watching Love Actually, and all my suspicious were correct - terrible movie!!

Stats:

  • 127, 814 steps
  • 38.3 miles run
  • 3 trips to the gym (2 core, 1 strength)

Week in Review (November 21 - November 27)

Tuesday (7,084 steps) - Barre with Kelly. May or may not have been a good idea as we used a glider during thighs and a band during gluts.
Wednesday (11,827 steps) - Roost Louisville run club at Crystal Springs brewery! I brought my Orange Mud Adventure Pack to try out on our super long/fast 2 mile run. Seems like it will work just fine!
Thursday (7,635 steps) - See Chattanooga 100 recap.
Friday (92,890 steps) - See Chattanooga 100 recap.
Saturday (88,030 steps) - See Chattanooga 100 recap. On my drive back to my hotel I had to pull over and nap in the parking lot of a gas station - I was overwhelmed with exhaustion! Stopped at Hardee's for dinner and then I pretty much only had time for packing. Watching a few episodes of Law & Order SVU while I was doing that.
Sunday (8,664 steps) - Alarm went off at 4:30. Why on earth did I book a 7 am flight??? At least Chattanooga has a teeny tiny airport. I had a delicious breakfast burrito before my flight. Long layover in Chicago, but at least no cancellations. Landed early in Denver, picked up A at Jan's house. Enough time to shower before heading to Alison's birthday party. From THERE we went to the Runners Roost team party. It was great seeing everyone, but I was exhausted, and apparently didn't get in any pictures.
Monday (9,248 steps) - Yay work. Runners Roost/ Coohills ugly sweater "run"! I of course didn't run, because I'm still a cripple, but I had a nice, brisk walk with Ang and Heather. Fun times were had after with delicious food and drinks. Love this event every year!
Stats:
  • 225,378 steps
  • 89.5 miles run
  • 1 barre class

Week in Review (May 30 - June 5)

Tuesday (14,701 steps) - Barre.
Wednesday (15,774 steps) - Special run club at Coohill's! Since I was "tapering," I only had two miles on schedule. Heather and I ran together on the Cherry Creek trail and A ran with Mo and Colfax.

Like usual, the food was fantastic!
Thursday (20,272 steps) - Barre. Had to drive into Golden to Runner's High to pick up my bib for the Dirty 30, so we were late to run club. Mo waited for us and we walked the big loop (with a small detour to cut it a littler shorter).
Friday (12,808 steps) - Nothing.
Saturday (79,303 steps) - Dirty 30. A and I went to Yogurtland and picked up a pizza. I was impressed that I managed to make it until it was dark outside before I went to bed.
Sunday (10,796 steps) - Up early for the RMRR June trophy series! A was running the 4k and I was volunteering at the finish line. A ran a very strong race and got a blue ribbon! A fun race that had pancakes at the end.

Ribbon winners!
We drove over to the Alamo Draft House for the 2nd Annual Hardrock Film Festival! I was surprised that the turnout was so low, but I guess people are out running or brunching at 10 am. The best part of the day was that I won one of the grand prize raffles - a pair of Hoka trail shoes! I'll try some on this week before I decide on a pair.

Monday (14,431 steps) - Nada.

Stats:
  • 168,085 steps
  • 33.6 miles "run"
  • 2 barre classes
