Wednesday (78,699 steps) - Summit 200
Thursday (94,423 steps) - Summit 200
Friday (16,235 steps) - Summit 200. Thankfully with Kristin being at the finish line we were able to get a ride back to Breckenridge to pick up Ben's truck. Went directly to Lee's house so we could try to nap a bit before going back to the finish line to watch the later finishers. I dozed on and off on the couch, but like usual I struggled a bit staying asleep. It got late enough that I told Ben we should get up.
| Somehow I lost my sunglasses at some point :( |
Ana was the final finisher and after celebrating we all decided to go to Sweet Soy in Copper for another dinner before going our separate ways. The food was PHENOMENAL and we were all really excited for food that was not aid station food.
Headed back to Lee's house and ended up dozing on the couch again before finally just giving up and going to bed.
Saturday (11,002 steps) - Plans with everyone for an early breakfast at Sunshine Cafe. We had the same server as last time, who was just as slow and inattentive, but the food and company were both great. Had to pack up everything at Lee's to head home and rescue Olive, but I went for a walk around the block first so that I could soak up the last of the cooler mountain air before getting to back down to triple digits. Ariel had left Olive at the house for us, so it made everything easier for us. Took Olive for a quick walk around the block before unloading, putting things away and doing laundry.
It was really hot in the house and we were tired and hungry by late afternoon, so we went to Torchy's for a late lunch/early dinner. Back home for another walk with Olive, a very quick Peloton ride so I didn't lose my streak, and relaxing on the couch with Good Fight.
Sunday (10,938 steps) - Had trouble sleeping and woke up pretty early. Took Olive for a long walk to the lake since it was supposed to be over 100 degrees later in the day.
| Olive still doesn't understand cows |
Dozed on the couch for a bit before going to Rails End to meet up with Tyler and Larry for a small post-race celebration in the air conditioning. I made a quick run to Costco to pick up a pizza for dinner and something to cook Monday since we have no food currently. Took Olive for another walk. We actually had time to watch a movie, so I picked "Project Hail Mary" - which we both REALLY enjoyed.
Monday (10,260 steps) - Woke up early and again took Olive for a walk to the lake since the weather was so nice. Back to work, which was a total nightmare. At least I didn't really have to squeeze a workout in. Ben and I took Olive for an uncomfortably hot walk at lunch. After work I took Olive for one more walk (mostly it was for me because I still needed my steps). We made dinner and then time on the couch for reading and Good Fight.
