Week in Review (September 26 - October 2)

Tuesday (10,812 steps) - Bonus day off from work! I did not sleep as late as I would have liked. Was not motivated at all, and by the time I finally decided to do my cross training, it was too late to find a live class for my 200th ride :(
Took Olive for a walk at lunch, and we saw an owl again, yay!
Bonus evening walk for Olive as well!
Wednesday (21,551 steps) - Work in the office. Went for walk at lunch. After work I had a pretty terrible workout to do - 16x80 sprints. It was hot AF, and I really doubted my ability to get this done. After just 4 repeats I thought I was going to pass out. (And yes, I realize I should NOT have worn a black shirt on a million degree day).
I felt better after using the bathroom after the 4th (failed) repeat, and the last 12 actually went WAY better than I ever could have imagined. It helped that the end of the run was somewhat in the shade and the sun started to go down.

Pizza for dinner, hurray!
Thursday (21,834 steps) - Work from home. I just had an easy run on schedule, any terrain, so I did the loop I like.
Took Olive for a walk. Ben and I decided to go to Torchy's again for dinner. Yum. Then it was on to Costco for some late night grocery shopping. Wooo.
Friday (12,548 steps) - Wash Park and coffee before going to work, which was uneventful. Took Olive for a walk when I got home. The evening is a blank.
Saturday (36,688 steps) - Up early for a run around Dirty Biz. Met up at Coalton to run with Terri,  Larry and Tyler. It was blissfully cloudy when we started - this run is a nightmare if it's hot. All in all, it wasn't nearly as horrible as I feared it would be - and was my longest run since Oregon!

I should note that they are doing planned cow grazing/mitigation and there were zillions of cows in areas we have never seen them before!

Stopped to get a protein shake from Ziggi's on the way home and took Olive for a walk. Went to 4 Noses after picking up Ben's truck from getting some work done.
Sunday (20,057 steps) - Took Olive for a short walk before heading to Boulder for an easy recovery run. I had picked an out and back on South Boulder trail. I always forget that it is slightly downhill on the way out and the way back always feels harder than it should.
Stopped at Torchy's for some queso and a taco before going to Home Depot. Literally no idea what else happened.
Monday (21,087 steps) - Work from home. Had a run that was supposed to be "faster" paces and some strides. Now that it's October I plan on wearing SOMETHING Halloween themed every day. This is a throwback to one of my old INB Zombie tees.
Definitely the fastest I have run in a while. (I no longer feel "sad" at my slow ass paces. I definitely am a stronger runner than I used to be and I no longer have HR in the 170s - although at my age that would probably mean I was dying anyway).
And it's always exciting to get a segment PR on something that I have run nearly 100 times!!!
Took Olive for a walk and saw another owl. This one actually looked at me when I "hooted" at him. Yay!
The afternoon was spent at the tire place (YES, AGAIN) because at some point I hit another flat and the sidewall of my tire is splitting. The guy gave me a nice discount because "I'm starting to feel really bad for you." (Even *I* am not counting anymore at how many times Ariel and I have been there this year - but I think it's double digits). Took Olive for another walk.

Week in Review (May 16 - May 22)

Tuesday (10,774 steps) - Work in the office. Did my cross training at lunch, and finally used the building's Peloton! I'm glad I mentioned it to Ben and asked about having to bring in my own shoes to clip in - turns out they have baskets!
It was a pretty night out, thanks to another afternoon rain storm.
Wednesday (18,173 steps) - Work in the office. Went for a walk at lunch. After work I hurried up to Boulder to meet up with Tyler for a run. It was a bit humid, and I had planned on "hiking" pace for my first run since Coco, but it didn't end up working out that way.

PLUS - WE SAW TWO BEARS.

Stopped at the store long enough to chat with Kyla and Gemini and have a sparkling water, then headed home for dinner with Ariel.
Thursday (10,460 steps) - My birthday - wooo. Still was a work from home day. Ariel took me to get a pedicure at lunch (finally fixed my janky toenails from the last pedicure - which was when Heather visited in JANUARY).
Took Olive for walk at lunch, and kinda got caught in a rain/thunderstorm. BUT, we saw the first owl of the season!

Ariel had graduation stuff, so after work I went with Ben to 4 Noses. They were doing a special BBQ for mug club people (us!), so that was a nice (free) dinner.
Friday (16,975 steps) - Walk at Wash Park and coffee! Pete bought my drink and a cinnamon roll, yum!
AND, Nicole and I finally went to lunch for our birthdays. We went to Capital Grille, and it was DELICIOUS. Especially this cake.
Rushed home after work to do last minute packing for our camping weekend! We got out maybe by 6, which wasn't too bad, all things considered. It was raining in the mountains, and we even got some snow near the tunnel. Woof. Don't want a repeat of last year! Stopped at Outer Range.

BEAUTIFUL night
Had to stop at Safeway on the way to the campground to get some groceries and firewood.
We ended up having a VERY late dinner!
Saturday (25,405 steps) - Up early, but didn't sleep great, unfortunately.
Went into town to Whole Foods to get coffee and breakfast. Then, we were off to do the run that I had route around the peninsula. It was thankfully not as smoky as Denver (from the fires in Canada), but it was a bit cloudy. Warmer than expected, and we were both really grateful to be in the mountains!

Went to Outer Range and then back to the campground for a bit. I picked a Mexican restaurant in Frisco for my birthday dinner and it was delicious!! We ended up watching "You" in the camper when it got colder because Ben still hasn't seen the most recent season. Made it until about 10 before I just couldn't keep my eyes open.
Sunday (24,888 steps) - Woke up pretty early again, didn't sleep great. Since we had to check out of the campground by noon, we opted to do the run early. Was supposed to do 2 hours, but that really wasn't in the cards. We called it about 90 minutes in. Nice day, though!

Got back, had birthday (carrot) cake for breakfast and loaded everything up. Stopped at Mountain Dweller (Outer Range) for coffee before heading home. For the first time in probably years, ZERO traffic going home. It was nice. Got everything unpacked, took Olive for a walk.
Monday (24,647 steps) - Work from home. I did my run early, thankfully, because it wasn't that smoky. I haven't been out to the lake in probably a month because of all the rain. Nice to see that the rangers are still fucking everything up:
Took Olive for a walk. and nearly was hit in the crosswalk - even WITH hitting the flashing pedestrian crossing lights. Maybe my outfit isn't bright enough?

Ariel had to work so I had an Amazon Watch Party with Ben. It was kinda neat, but I got disconnected from the Wifi about halfway through so that was irritating.

Stats:
  • 131,322 steps
  • 28.2 miles run

Week in Review (July 21 - July 27)

Tuesday (27,214 steps) - Work in the office with a walk around downtown at lunch. Met up with Tyler for another run at Apex. He was tired, so I was *almost* able to keep up with him for most of the run. We also saw a ton of wildlife, including a black squirrel, lizard, turkeys and deer!

Wednesday (37,850 steps) - Work from home. On our lunch walk break we saw "Alice" the owl super close to the trail. What a cutie!
Met up with Tyler in Boulder. We have been going counter-clockwise for months, so we finally decided to do the gradual sludge up Bear FIRST. I actually felt relatively decent on this run, and Tyler wasn't that far ahead of me. We got to our turnaround on Fern and it started to rain - and proceeded to continue for the remainder of our run. It was nice to not be on fire like usual.

Thursday (17,805 steps) - Work in the office, wander around on lunch. Decided to have an extra rest day, and we ended up having a porch happy hour with Tyler.
Friday (28,808 steps) - Work in the office. Went with Ben to New Image for "real" happy hour. They came out with some amazing beers this week!
Picked up pizza for dinner, then took Pika for a walk. We got a picture of one of the owls eyeballing a kitty on the side of the trail. As much as we love the owls, we hope the kitty didn't get eaten!
Saturday (30,552 steps) - Took A to meet her team for a trail run, then drove up to Boulder to meet Kristin. We planned on running 6 miles, ended up run/walking about 8 instead. Beautiful day, and luckily there was cloud cover for most of the day.

Ben, Ariel and I went to Hobby Lobby and got ideas for what we want to do for the centerpieces for our wedding. We even made a prototype - and it looks pretty dang amazing. (No spoilers, you'll have to wait for the actual wedding to see those pics!)
Sunday (13,410 steps) - Basically the first "real" mostly rest day since probably April. Only "exercise" was taking Pika for a few walks. We slept in, watched Birbox (Ben had never seen it) and did basically nothing.

Of note, my super tiny mileage for the day was still enough for me to officially hit the 1,000 mile mark in the #GVRAT.

Monday (12,955 steps) - Work from home. Lots of exciting packages in the mail! Most I can't share, but they include the custom cake topper we ordered and stuff to finalize our centerpieces. I did, however, also finally get some of my new face masks.
After work I actually ran near the house instead of going to a trail. Biggest reason is that I knew the goats would be out. Aren't they adorable?

I haven't done anything other than fairly technical and steep trail runs, so a flatter run with more... running, was a bit tough.

  • 27 miles run

Tuesday  (13,261 steps) - Quick Peloton ride and Olive walk before going to work. Of note, it's interesting that the mileage for our det...
