Week in Review (December 4 - December 10)

Tuesday (13,750 steps) - Gym during lunch for strength. Lots of squats. The hardest of the day was doing hanging tricep dips. Dead.
I love festive leggings!!
I had really wanted to go to a new run club after work, but the two people I know who go were both skipping. Ran by the lake. Cold.
Wednesday (20,011 steps) - Pretty sunrise this morning!
Went to lunch with Janna - only a week until she leaves us :(
Boulder run club!! It was cold, but not terrible. At least when it gets this cold we move from muddy/rutted trails to just snow-packed and icy.

Thursday (13,056 steps) - Core class with the trainer at lunch. I can tell I'll be teacher's pet with this guy too - he is impressed with my form and core strength (even though I swear I've never had abs). Went to BP for run club, although I ran early.
Stuck around for beers & snacks.
Friday (14,285 steps) - Downtown run during lunch.
Grocery shopping after work. Made mini quiches (that turned out to be super tasty).
Saturday (19,609 steps) - No Runners Edge - we opted to go to the last Runners Roost team run of the year. It was a lot of fun getting out on the trails in the middle of the morning - no headlamps! Also, it was nice running with people that aren't as fast as our regular group. There were a lot of great giveaways after - A and I both won Ultimate Direction packs (although I gave mine to Monica since I really don't need a new one).

Stopped at Heather's on the way home, had some food.
Love pictures of us with really tall people.
Shower, got ready for my work holiday party. Dropped A off with Phil on my way down. Parked downtown at 6, drinks and dinner, leaving around 8.
Then headed over to Sully's house for yet another party and more food. A was super tired, so we only stayed about an hour and a half or so.
Sunday (17,378 steps) - Up around 7 so I could run with Lisa at Rock Creek. Struggle through the first few miles, then everything loosened up and it was much better.

Chopped veggies and browned meat to make pot roast in the crock pot. Laundry and LOTS of TV.
Monday (14,319 steps) - Core class at gym. Trainer doesn't seem to think I'm getting any benefit out of the workouts and is looking to find moves for me that will be more challenging. A didn't have a Scout meeting, but I didn't put two and two together in time to get to run club, so I just ran around the lake. Weather has been pretty warm, so it wasn't terrible.
We also got the announcements about the 2019 Runners Roost team, and happy to say that we will be back for another year!
Stats:

  • 112,408 steps
  • 32.5 miles run
  • 3 sessions with the trainer (2 core, 1 strength)

Week in Review (December 6 - December 12)

Tuesday (11,479 steps) - Up early to get A to student council. Barre class at lunch with Laura.
A had gymnastics after school and I got her a new leotard. It was a deal at only $25! We stopped at the grocery store on the way home and then wanted to get dinner at Torchy's Tacos, but they were "unexpectedly" closed. Womp. Very late dinner.
Wednesday (15,549 steps) - First real snow of the year. A got up before me and shoveled the walk and lot and scraped off the car. THEN, she made eggs for breakfast (and did dishes). Seriously, how did I get so lucky with this one? The commute was wretched, I was 15 minutes late into the office. Deep freeze all day, with temperatures hovering around 10 degrees, so I didn't even get outside for a walk break. We still went to run club after work. Mo came a bit late with Colfax, we did a small loop just to get him out. It was slick (A fell twice) and COLD.
I immediately went in and asked Amy what the warmest tights were - the ones I have just won't cut it in single digits. Brrr. Once at home we set up my new Elevated Legs that (finally) came. Man, these things are so great.
Thursday (9,663 steps) - Finally, finally, FINALLY, the Runners Roost team was announced! Happy to say that even A made the team (as an honorary member).

After work we went to a Trail Sisters event - it was a lot of fun to see everyone.

Roost team attendees
Then we stopped by Rocko's on the way home for nachos and a beer.
Friday (12,807 steps) - Took Bee Rad in for an oil change and walked into work. Annoyed that I got a parking ticket because their lot was full - at least they cut me a deal on the oil change. I did, however, also find out that I needed new brakes. OF COURSE I DO. After work A and I went to her Girl Scout mystery dinner. A has gone every year, but this was the first time I joined her. It was fun to see the weird combination of foods. Kids were pretty goofy.
Saturday (21,929 steps) - Got to Runners Roost in Lakewood just before 8 for the Runners Edge Toys for Tots run. I had not really run since the marathon and I was hoping to run about 10 miles. It was a lot colder than the forecast had said, so I only did the big 7 mile loop (and I was FINE with that).
Don't be fooled by the blue skies. Super chilly and the sunshine didn't last.
Did more shopping (ugh, 40% off if I bought 2 or more apparel items?) and then went to the Egg & I with Mo for breakfast. A decided that we needed to rearrange the living room so that we could both sit in the recliners. This took most of the afternoon. At 6 we went to Jessa's house for pizza and cake before going bowling for Jackson's birthday. A LONG NIGHT, I was up until almost 1 am!
Sunday (13,799 steps) - Somehow I was actually able to stay in bed until about 8:45. We went to Torchy's Tacos for breakfast and then went to Just Brakes to get my car done. Long story short, it took 3 times as long as I was quoted and cost $100 more. I hate everyone. Squeezed in a short, chilly loop around the neighborhood - don't I look festive?
Went to barre and then Denver Beer for a drink. Lisa met Heather and Mo and I there, so that was fun. Picked up Tokyo Joe's on the way home and then watched the fall finale of Walking Dead.
Monday (13,101 steps) - Ate a million cookies at work. One of the attorneys hosted a cookie exchange and brought in dozens of various holiday cookies. Being the only person without any self-control meant I ate them ALL.DAY.LONG. And then got a cookie hangover. After school/work we went grocery shopping at Target. I randomly decided to make chimichangas, and thankfully, A liked them.

Stats:
  • 98,327 steps. This disgusting cold weather certainly ruins my motivation. Obviously.
  • 11 miles run
  • 3 barre classes
  • Current weight - ??? - Still not weighing in.
Everything Else:
  • Work is kinda awful right now. It's just so slow around the holidays and it's super slow.

Week in Review (November 22 - November 28)

Tuesday (13,649 steps) - Grocery shopping in the morning. Then A and I went to barre so she could finally meet Laura. She liked the class, and recognized that Laura is the most intense instructor.
We hit up Torchy's Tacos at the grand opening (holy moly, SO DAMN GOOD) and then went to the grocery store. NEVER AGAIN DO I GO THIS CLOSE TO THANKSGIVING. It was a damn mad house. We barely made it out in time for me to throw some chili in the crock pot and then I had my annual gyno appointment. A had gymnastics, then bed.
Wednesday (13,763) - Lazy day, able to "sleep in." Made the pumpkin cheesecake, then we went to REI to get Lisa's birthday present and drove down to Washington Park for a special run club.
Ariel, Heather, Colfax and I ran one loop around the park (about 2.5 miles) and chatted with people until about 6:00 before we headed home.

Thursday (15,832 steps) - Broomfield Turkey Day 10K.
Ricky and Lisa picked us about 1:30 to go to Jessa's for Friendsgiving. We had a lot of food and beer. Watched the football game, a movie (which I apparently slept through), didn't eat dinner until like 8. Played Taboo for the first time (which was really fun), and then had dessert at some crazy hour like 10:45. We didn't get home until 11:30???
Friday (17,222) - Black Friday barre class at 9:00. Rushed out right after to pick up A, change clothes, and head to White Ranch for Happy Trails run club.
We ran about 4 miles with Jeannene. I had never run at White Ranch and there was a lot more climbing than I expected. Oh, and we saw the guy I went on the weird half date with. That was awkward.

After, we went to Mountain Toad Brewery in Golden for some beers.
Went home to shower and then up to Heather's house for food and ornament making. Stopped at Target on the way home for our one Black Friday stop.
Saturday (21,934 steps) - Runners Edge in Evergreen at Alderfer/Three Sisters. It was FREAKING COLD. It was probably only in the 20's when we started out and my hands and toes were freezing. I finally started to warm up, but only had time to do just over 6 miles because we had plans with Lisa at 11:30 for brunch. Saw elk for the first time!

Went home to shower and get A, and then we met Lisa and Ricky at El Camino. Had a delicious breakfast and a few mimosas. Stopped at Runners Roost "on the way home" and picked up a new top and the white Lole vest I'd been admiring. Also got a quick haircut and a car wash for Bee Rad.
Lots of TV.
Sunday (19,165 steps) - Drove down to Waterton Canyon for a special "post Turkey Day run." We saw Phil, Kery and Lisa. My legs were DEAD from the last few days, but we managed to sort of keep up with the group for about the first mile. Saw a few groups of bighorn sheep. The canyon was kind of cold and windy, but it was overall a really great day for running.

On the way home we stopped Torchy's Tacos again. SO GOOD (AGAIN). TV for a bit and then I went to barre class. Dinner, bed sort of early.
Monday (14,822 steps) - Boo, hiss, back to work. Got caught up on blogging and all the emails. After work/school, we went to Target to pick up groceries. Amazing A decided to use the gift cards she got for her birthday to pitch in. So sweet! Walked on the treadmill for a bit to get my steps in for the day while watching Criminal Minds.

Stats:
  • 117,827 steps
  • 25.5 miles run
  • 3 barre classes
  • Current weight 124.6 - not super surprised by this, I literally ate #allthethings and #drankallthebeer while we were on our staycation. Time to get "back on track."
Everything Else:
  • The prospect of working for another 25-30 years is so incredibly depressing.

Week in Review (September 8 - September 14)

Tuesday  (13,883 steps) - Peloton ride and Olive walk before going to work in office. Went to the gym at lunch and did some strength trainin...
