Week in Review (October 20 - October 26)

Tuesday (13,783 steps) - Peloton ride and walk with Ben and Olive before going to work. Gym at lunch for some easy strength training and treadmill walks. Did a quick delivery on my way home. Ben joined for an afternoon walk with Olive. We were wearing our new PDX fleece jackets. Olive actually looked at the camera when I picked her up for a selfie.
And what I believe is the only appropriate use of AI - Ben had Chat GPT give Olive a matching jacket. If we were the type of people to do holiday cards, this would be our picture.
Dinner and we rented Minions and Monsters, which was meh.
Wednesday (16,657 steps) - Walk with Ben and Olive before going to work. Went for an easy run at lunch.
Been pretty good at remembering to wear my Halloween shorts
Ben and I had our Torchy's date a day early since I wasn't going to be home on Thursday. Sheriff's Country for a new show. It's... meh.
Thursday (16,283 steps) - Up very early to last minute pack, shower and take Olive for a quick walk. Ben and I picked up Tyler and we headed to the airport. Everything went pretty quick, thankfully. Haven't flown Allegiant in a while, and everything was ok. I watched a few episodes of Gossip Girl and read some of my book on the flight. We landed early. Tyler's bag came pretty quickly and picking up the rental was very quick - gotta love the tiny airports! Tyler did some research on where we could stop for lunch and found a place on the drive to Jamestown. It looked like a very fancy country club on the water, but thankfully they didn't seem to have a strict dress code. Food was fast, good and inexpensive.
Next up was a quick stop at Kroger for last minute race supplies. We got to race headquarters around 3:30. Went to our separate bunkhouses to claim a bed for the weekend.
Then over to the main lodge to pick up our race bibs. Figured we would go for a shakeout walk. The one mile out and back we did was gorgeous!!

Went back to the bunkhouse to prep drop bags and get everything ready for race morning. The race offered a free pasta dinner, which was delicious.
Then the race briefing, which... wasn't really very informative. Got back to the room at 8 and watched part of a Gossip Girl episode before lights out at 9. Did NOT have any luck getting to sleep early and tossed and turned for hours before falling into a restless sleep.
Friday (125,695 steps) - No Business 100
Saturday (104,209 steps) - No Business 100. I was sure that I would sleep on the drive to Knoxville, but I didn't. We didn't have any phone service for probably the first half hour of the drive, and it did NOT look the same as the way we had come in, so I was pretty alert. Tyler had researched food options and found a place relatively close to our hotel and the airport. The food was good but they sat us on the patio that had the garage doors open and it was FREEZING.
Not pictured were some of the best sweet potato fries I've had
As soon as we got to the hotel I took a quick shower and then had to repack all my things. Tossed and turned all night. Again.
Sunday (10,629 steps) - Up at 4:15 for our stupid early flight. Drive was like 5 minutes and dropping off the car didn't take long either. Security line took forever, I guess every flight out of Knoxville leaves at roughly the same time. Tyler got me a coffee while I was waiting in line - basically as soon as I was through it was time to board. More Gossip Girl on the plane and again, landed early. Ben picked us up and brought us Dunkin, yay!! Home after we dropped off Tyler and took Olive for a walk. After a quick shower Ben took me to the Brunch House.
Nap on the couch before going to Resolute to watch the Broncos game with Tyler.

One more walk with Olive before couch time. Watched Pitfall, which was terrible and started another episode of Sherrif's Country.
Monday (11,928 steps) - Bah. Ben and I took Olive for a short walk before work. It had rained all night, so we stuck to the neighborhood. Ben picked up Dutch and I got caught up from being out in no time at all. Got all my things unpacked and did laundry. Ben and I took Olive for a longer walk around the neighborhood at lunch.
Ben ordered in Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner and we watched more Sheriff's Country.
