Week in Review (October 8 - October 14)

Tuesday (18,891 steps) - Strength class during lunch. Milk Market run club! A pleasant surprise that Paula came.
We haven't run together in... ages. It was nice to catch up, although sadly, this was a crazy "hard" run for me. Blech. Pizza and salad for dinner.
Wednesday (22,710 steps) - Core class during lunch. Runners Roost Boulder!
It was a pretty chilly night, so I started in a light jacket but quickly got too warm. Ended up doing the rest of the run in gloves and my tee and it was fine. Finally feeling a bit more recovered!

Thursday (10,712 steps) - First snow of the year. (Boo, hiss). Super happy when I got home and saw my Tahoe memento had arrived. I love it!!
Went to Berkeley Park, but opted to just walk around the lake again.
Friday (8,340 steps) - No class because my trainer had a meeting. Went to Tupelo Honey for lunch with Jessa. Fun to catch up, I hadn't seen her in ages. After work we went to Heather's for her birthday party.

Saturday (23,432 steps) - Up early to run with Runners Roost Stapleton and Runners Edge.
It was really nice to run with Lexa, Lisa & Jeramiah. I kinda miss my weekly running group and have to decide if I want to pay to do it in the winter since we are no longer doing an aid station.
Home for a quick shower and then A and I headed to Prost Brewing. A had taken a comp entry from Berkeley to run the 5K. She ran around 26 minutes (and has barely been running).

Stuck around for a beer before dropping her off at Rachelle's karate testing. Drove up to the mountains and met Ben at Angry James before picking up pizza. Surprise, we have another race coming up - this time it's in January. Woot!
Sunday (7,268 steps) - Slept in. Ran a few errands and then wandered around downtown Breckenridge for a bit. Picked up pumpkin lattes, beers at Broken Compass and stopped to get wings at Ollie's before heading back to Ben's.
Ate some carrot cake, then drove back down to the city. Thankfully, Deidre dropped A off so I didn't have to head back out.
Monday (9,952 steps) - Nothing!!

Stats:
  • 101,305 steps
  • 17.8 miles run
  • Two gym classes

Week in Review (October 1 - October 7)

Tuesday (16,215 steps) - Strength during lunch. Milk Market run club! After weeks (and weeks) of not running, I opted to "run" with Lisa & Annette. It was drizzling rain, cold, slow and not the greatest, but I need to get back into running!

Wednesday (19,970 steps) - Core class during lunch. Runners Roost Boulder! Apparently I wasn't paying attention last week and there was a trail running clinic (with Cat Bradley) happening at the same time as our regular run club, so there were a billion people there.
I had the opportunity to run shorter (with the clinic), but opted to stick with the regular group. HOLY CRAP I AM NOT RECOVERED. I had to walk so so so so much. Once the climbing stopped, I didn't feel quite as terrible, but ugh.

Thursday (13,078 steps) - Belmar run club! A and I walked with Mo and Colfax. Cold evening, I don't know how I am going to survive the "real" cold.

After, a group of us went to the new restaurant in Wheat Ridge "Mac Cheezary" - it was really good! A and I got different bowls so we could split them - Colorado Favorite & a Polish Cajun. YUM.

Friday (10,114 steps) - Core class during lunch. Felt super motivated and did quite a bit of cleaning when I got home from work. Since it was National Taco Day, we ordered Torchy's for pick up. (And good thing, I am not sure I have seen that place so busy since they initially opened a few years ago).
Saturday (6,973 steps) - Apparently, I did basically nothing all day. Slept in, made breakfast & baked cookies.
We went to the grocery store and then went to Amy & Geno's house for pumpkin carving! I'm not sure I've ever actually carved a pumpkin, and this was a lot of fun!

Sunday (22,315 steps) - Up early for RMRR 8 miler! I was definitely not looking forward to this as I've obviously not been running since I got done with Tahoe. Especially dreading after how awful Wednesday's trail run had been. The race ended up starting 15 minutes late because the port-o-potty that had been ordered was never delivered and we had to wait until 8 for the nearby rec center to open so we could use bathrooms. A decided that she only wanted to run the 5K, and I had to start nearly 11 minutes after the gun. The first mile wasn't bad, and then it basically all went to crap after that. I set up my interval timer (2:30/:45) right around 2 miles in. I was actually able to maintain those for a few miles - much to the annoyance of Rob - every time he would catch me when I was walking I'd be taking off into a run again. At the turnaround (just under 5 miles due to the way the course was set up) I had to take a LOT more breaks. This was a lot harder than I expected it to be, although overall, my time wasn't "terrible."

Time - 1:24:01
Garmin Distance - 8.08 miles
Garmin Pace - 10:24
Mile 1 - 9:45
Mile 2 - 10:44
Mile 3 - 10:16
Mile 4 - 9:55
Mile 5 - 10:16
Mile 6 - 10:48
Mile 7 - 11:25
Mile 8 - 10:12
Mile 8.08 - 8:34 pace
Matchy matchy skirts with Ang!
We stuck around at the finish taking goofy pictures and chatting until awards were done.
Ben was already down in Denver, so we agreed to meet him at Station 26 (with Greg!) After a few beers we headed home, stopping to pick up Chipotle for lunch. Quick nap, then getting ready for our annual family pictures with Dulce.

THEN, we went to the housewarming party that Megan was hosting. Great evening with friends!
Apparently the only pic is of all the dogs outside wanting to come in, haha
Managed to stay up long enough to watch the (ridiculous) season premiere of Walking Dead.
Monday (13,835 steps) - New Terrain unofficial run club. Since it's getting dark so early, we all headed out early. I was just hiking with Pika (who really didn't want to be out there, she was so stubborn!)

Picked up pho for dinner & rewatched half of the Walking Dead episode since A had fallen asleep and missed some of it.

Stats:

  • 102,500 steps
  • 17.7 miles run
  • Three gym classes

Week in Review (September 24 - September 30)

Tuesday (19,474 steps) - Strength class during lunch. Milk Market run club (although I was still just walking).

Pretty excited that the theme of this one was Taco Tuesday and we had an amazing taco bar waiting for us.
Wednesday (15,315 steps) - Core class during lunch. Runners Roost Boulder! As much as I wanted to run on the trails, Ariel and I stuck to the road and did a run/walk (although by the end we were running more than walking) on the 5K route.

Mac n' Cheese 5K had a booth at the store and we got to enjoy some of the cheesiest mac I've ever had. Delicious!
Thursday (15,380 steps) - Berkeley Park! Since it was Hoktoberfest, Hoka was there and I demoed some new shoes. Raymond did not want to look at the camera.
Ariel and I opted to walk around the lake.

Then I boldly participated in the Hoktoberfest mile after. I'm surprised I was able to run so much.
Friday (13,349 steps) - Core class during lunch. Took A shopping to get new shoes.
Saturday (20,876 steps) - Drove up to Jones Pass for a hike! It was super foggy when we started, but ended up being a really pretty day! On the way down, I realized we had missed a switchback that we've taken previously, so I'm not actually sure what our full hike was.

Finally had time to stop at the brewery in Emprie before we met up with Ben at work and A got to go inside!
Then onto Angry James and pizza for dinner.
Sunday (13,519 steps) - Slept in! Ben picked Booth Falls in Vail for our hike for the day, and boy was it gorgeous! I have not seen fall colors like that in ages! Took a zillion pictures.

Outer Range & Qdoba.
Monday (12,442 steps) - Early drive to Denver, although there was no traffic. Grocery shopping & exchanging yet another viola for A.

Stats:
  • 110,355 steps
  • About 4 miles run (but hiking & walking!)
  • Three gym classes

Week in Review (September 29 - October 5)

Tuesday  (11,904 steps) - Peloton and Olive walk before going to work. Work was uneventful. Went to the gym at lunch for the StairMaster, st...
