Yeah.
I haven't experienced this in a while. With the full schedule I've had over the last few months, I've barely had time to do laundry in between all the training and races.
Yet I come back from Greece with a few weeks until my next half. And I have no job. And I'm... blah.
Training has been crappy this week. Mainly because having never run a marathon before I tried to do the same workouts that I do after a half. Which is a big fail on my end. Usually I am not sore after running 13.1 and my workouts week after week are like a gigantic week of deja vu. After a marathon? I'm apparently sore. And tired.
I managed to still get all my workouts in. I got all my distance in. But they all sucked. I'm tired (even with getting more sleep - you know, since I don't have to get up early for a job) and I'm... uninterested? Maybe I should try planning another marathon. The last 6 months of motivation and training are just sorta... over. And I feel... done.
Sigh.

Maybe your body just needs a few days off of running. I hardly ran this week either, only one 3 miler :(
ReplyDeleteHope you get your motivation back soon :)
Your body and mind both need a rest. Maybe it's time to take a break to reflect on everything you've accomplished thus far, and wowow is it A LOT.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the job hunt too. Hope you added your marathon to the resume. It speaks volumes to your dedication and ambition.
You definitely need to rest :) I ran a 1/2 marathon a month after my marathon and took at least a week off. your body is conditioned for the 1/2. it just needs a break. just pick it up the following week. btw-saw you are running in Mobile, AL. I am from there (live in Atlanta now) and plan on doing that race too! Nice and flat and great "Winter" weather for the South.
