It was slightly drizzling after breakfast when we were leaving the hotel, but luckily, it stopped before we headed out.
We knew we wanted to spend a day in the National Park, but we only had time to hit a few highlights. We really wanted to see a yak, and a lot of the pictures we saw of them were at Conic Hill.
We didn't really have an easy time finding the trail head, but we finally decided to just get out and walk. It was a little more steep than we imagined it would be, and Lisa headed back to the car about halfway up. I continued on with the girls, and we were rewarded with some pretty stunning views of the valley. No yaks, though :(

The journey continued on to Falls of Falloch, more than an hour away. Had we done a bit more research, we likely would have skipped this one. We were all a tad disappointed in the falls, and it was only a quarter of a mile walk to get to them.
Last stop of the day was the Benmore Botanic Gardens - even FURTHER away. Imagine our disappointment when we arrived and it was closed!!! OMG! Of course, really all that meant was that the visitor center was closed. We were still able to get out and walk around. The whole purpose of going was to see the maples, but apparently, they were already "done" for the season. Still got some neat pics though!

On the way back, the gps mapped us... into the ocean? Not really, but we ended up on a ferry that took us over Hunter's Quay.
By the time we got back, it was too late to do anything else for the evening, so it was time for dinner. Alyssa (who is now 19?!) and I had a few drinks at the hotel bar.
