Would you like some rub with your chub?

There were only two good things about my run tonight. First, I looked pretty cute.

Second? It eventually ended.

I knew it was going to be miserable from the start. I literally ate nothing but junk for two days straight. I normally have a pretty healthy and well-rounded diet. I stray from that maybe a meal a week when I'll have a burger or pizza. This weekend it all fell apart. Pretty much anything you can imagine that could be around at Christmas? Yep I ate it. And more than one of it. Top it off with a few beers and not enough sleep? I woke up this morning feeling like death.

For those of you that know me, you know I can eat a lot. And that I am always hungry. And that 95% of my thoughts are consumed with what I'm going to be eating or what I've already eaten or what I wish I could eat. This morning I woke up and couldn't stomach the thought of even eating my oatmeal. Yep. Cause for concern. I wasn't able to eat anything at all until about 10:15 when I forced down a Luna bar. This is all VERY unlike me.

By the time I was headed to the gym I finally didn't actually FEEL sick anymore, but I knew my body was going to rebel. Even though I was given a very easy hill program, I suffered from step one.

It. Was. Terrible. My calves were burning (although that could be from my two long runs over the weekend). I was sweating like crazy. And to top it off??? Chub Rub. Yep... chafing. For the first time in close to a year. It started around mile 3 under my right arm. When I started pumping my arms a little further from my body, I noticed it on my inner right thigh. UGH!! I do not WANT to feel the burn. I just want this terrible, miserable run to be over with. I could have just stopped when it started getting really sucky, but then I'd just be a whiny quitter. So instead I was a whiny finisher. Barely.

Someone PLEASE remind me of this thread next holiday... oh wait. That's this weekend. Grr.

  1. At least you got out there! Which is more than I can say for myself. I didn't run today. However I did do abs and legs, so I guess that counts for something!

  2. Sorry about that - it's an ugly experience but you're not alone. During my miserable treadmill run yesterday, I was sweating the multiple bottles of wine and prosecco I've drank over the last several days, and dripping all the grease from cookies, almond roca, decadent meats, goat-cheesey frittas...everything. If anything, this will motivate me to get a good clean start (on Jan 3, just being realistic). :)

  3. NOOO I hate that! I've gotten chaffing where no man or woman should ever feel it.

This is going to give me nightmares now ..... .

  4. but you looked cute! Taking pictures of your outfits is a great skill, one I haven't mastered yet (I don't have too many cute outfits, so not too big of a loss).

  5. Pretty much any time I try a running skirt I get chub rub. The short part is never long enough, and I don't shave enough on a regular basis. Boo.

  6. I lived in the same pajamas for 3 days. At one point on the 3rd day I finally noticed I had a glob of frosting that was dried and crusty on my shirt. I didn't even bother to clean it or switch shirts. I was ultimate sloth. So if anyone deserves to have some extra rubbing ... it is me!

I run tonight. I really hope I don't have to report back that I was miserable and regretting eating my weight in cake!
