Week in Review (March 24 - March 30)

Tuesday (29,708 steps) - Work from home. Took Pika for a walk during lunch and ran 10 miles after work.

The end of the line...
Wednesday (17,641 steps) - Work from home. Took Pika on a walk during lunch and another after work.

Thursday (26,838 steps) - Work from home. Walked Pika, ran 6 miles after work.

Friday (14,971 steps) - Work from home. Walked Pika.

Went to 4 Noses to pick up beer. Snowed. Had a fun zoom call with some Belmar folks.
Saturday (18,966 steps) - Thought about doing a really long run. Ended up just doing 4 miles. Why run longer, there are no races...

Sunday (23,880 steps) - Ran 6 miles with Ben in the afternoon.
Monday (21,977 steps) - Work from home. Took Pika on a long walk during lunch and another after work. The end...
As an aside, this was supposed to be the day that we left for London/Paris to run the Paris marathon. I think that is partially why I was in a grumpy funk all week. Wonder if/when travel will resume...

Thoughts:
Until quarantine is over, this is a very abbreviated recap - more for me than anyone else. Every run we do is from our front door. We are not driving anywhere and we are not going any anywhere. Things are... not interesting.

Stats:
  • 153,981 steps
  • 26.4 miles run
  • No gym classes :(

Week in Review (March 17 - March 23)

Tuesday (16,967 steps) - Work from home, day 2. Went for a run at the lake with Ben during lunch. We were invited over to Kristin's house for a St. Patrick's Day dinner, and since we had already been socializing in the past week, we figured it was safe even with the new social distancing regulations.
Fun evening, and again, probably the last time that will happen for a while :(
Wednesday (17,908 steps) - Work from home, day 3. Very frustrating day with a super slow network, so didn't get much done. At least Ben has me set up with a pretty cool home office.
Waited until after work to go for a run with Ben, another 6 miles done.
Thursday (11,913 steps) - Snowpocalypse and work from home day 4.
Batman needs treats!
Doug works at a restaurant downtown, and to help support small business we ordered food and Kristin delivered it to us.
Only time we really got outside was to take Pika for walks. Ugh.

Friday (12,798 steps) - Work from home day 5. Cold AF, and again, only took Pika out for walks. Between isolation & the storm, we aren't getting out as much as I'd like.
We went to 4 Noses to pick up a growler and got Pho for dinner.

Saturday (23,184 steps) - In this new world when time has stopped, I didn't need to get up early. Ben and I decided that we spend enough time together now, so I did my "long" run alone. It wasn't terrible, and I ran a bit further than I had initially planned.

Ted stopped buy to pick up the beer I had picked up for him, it was good to see someone "new."
Sunday (20,962 steps) - Set the alarm for 6:30 in the morning so we could get to the grocery store right when it opened. What a sad time we are in! We had to go to three stores and still couldn't find any fresh meat, but we got most of what we needed. I went for another solo run that was faster than I normally do, but the headwind made me super miserable on the way back.
We invited Tyler over for a "watch party" before watching Walking Dead.
Monday (18,495 steps) - Work from home, mixed in with a few walks with Pika. Ariel and I went to the Asian market and managed to find meat and fresh veggies to make stir fry. We also made a cheesecake!

We had a fun group video chat with the folks from Belmar, and then we facetimed with Greg for HOURS - the next best thing to being at the brewery, I guess. Up way too late.
Stats:
  • 122,227 steps
  • 24.9 miles run
  • NO gym classes :( - I did do an upper body video, and Ariel and I did a core video one day.

Week in Review (March 10 - March 16)

Tuesday (19,700 steps) - Core class during lunch. Still an off week with Rev Run, so went to Milk Market. Ran with Annette.

Wednesday (20,604 steps) - Upper body class during lunch. Left work early to go with A to the high school for "mandatory" registration, only to find out that she had already registered and we didn't even need to be there. Ugh. Took Pika for a walk and then went to Boulder for run club. Ran the trail head loop again, and FINALLY the trails weren't complete crap. Still slow, still hard, but definitely better than it has been.

Thursday (12,352 steps) - Core class during lunch. Headache and bad mood all day, so decided to skip running. Netflix and Torchy's for dinner. Thanks to Corona Virus, found out that A's school is shutting down for an additional week (outside of spring break) to "quarantine." But I still have to go to work, so....
Friday (13,423 steps) - Nada!
Saturday (26,285 steps) - Went to North Table for a group run with Tyler, Kristin and Jeremiah. Ben was going to join us later since he is so much faster. I was struggling in the early miles, but towards the end I was feeling a bit better.

Had some drinks at New Terrain, complete with a surprise visit with Anne and Doug.
Decided to stock up on alcohol for the apocalypse at Total Beverage before heading home.
Sunday (20,161 steps) - Berkeley had a group run starting from Over Yonder in Golden, but I wasn't feeling up to running as far as they were, so Ben and I decided to meet up with people at the Apex trail head. I took Pika out earlier in hopes of getting far enough ahead that I could get some running in.

Of course the group caught up before we were more than a mile or so out, and then Pika was pulling and it was pretty miserable for a mile or so. Ben waited at one of the top trail junctions and then everything was a lot better.

We drove to Genesee to look at a wedding venue before meeting people at the brewery.
Little did we know that this would be our last group meet up for a while...
Monday (15,968 steps) - And so begins day 1 of working remotely. It's interesting that for YEARS, we were told it was impossible for staff to work from home, and yet with a tutorial, we were all able to get set up just fine. Due to COVID-19, we found out this would be the last day that restaurants and breweries would be open, so we went to Resolute for a beer and picked up more groceries.

Stats:
  • 128,493 steps
  • 21.8 miles run
  • 3 gym classes

Week in Review (April 16 - April 22)

Tuesday  (43,134 steps) - the end of Southern States 200 ! After I loaded up my drop bags I was suddenly exhausted. I knew there was no way ...
