Week in Review (November 17 - November 23)

Tuesday (12,231 steps) - Work from home. Pika walks. The end.
Wednesday (18,159 steps) - Work from home. Denver Roost run club!
Fun night running with Dave, Maureen & Colfax, Paula, John & Maya. Colfax got to try a jogging stroller for part of the run!
Thursday (20,253 steps) - Work from home. Weather was nice, so I was motivated to run during lunch with Pika. Apparently she really only enjoys running if there are other dogs she can compete with. This was a struggle pretty much the entire time.
After work we went to look at a couch. We had every intention of not spending a ton of money, but the one we liked online was small and uncomfortable in person. After pricing it out, we opted to order a different one, although we decided to sleep on it before putting money down.
Friday (14,797 steps) - Work from home. Today the weather was still nice, so I figured Batman could join on the lunch walk. It was all fun and games until Batman pooped in his backpack! The last 10 minutes were not pleasant, and I had to rush him into a bath as soon as I got home. Ugh.

Saturday (23,010 steps) - No recollection of the morning, other than we went ahead and ordered the couch. Oof. But isn't it pretty?
In the afternoon I stole Koda and ran him to Kristin's house to partake in her K50K for her birthday! I was joining for the last two segments. Can't believe how well she was running after she'd already hit a marathon distance! Last few miles Pika joined. It was NOT warm. Socialized for a bit around the firepit with everyone. Fun night!
Sunday (22,665 steps) - Up "early" to run with Belmar friends for a socially distanced turkey trot. I ran with Mo and Pika. Colfax wasn't up for running since he was still recovering from surgery. It felt like an unnecessarily difficult run for the distance, flatness & elevation gain. Womp, womp.

After we finished 5.5ish miles, we took the dogs for an additional walk. Social distanced for a bit with everyone after.
Monday (16,431 steps) - Work from home. A had her annual doctor's appointment, so I only had time to take Pika for a short walk. Quick three mile run after work since it was still relatively warm and it was light enough I didn't need a headlamp. I hate winter.
Stats:
  • 127,546 steps
  • 22.7 miles run
  • No cross training :(

Week in Review (November 10 - November 16)

Tuesday (17,678 steps) - Work from home, walked Pika during lunch. GMB run club! Ran with Mo for 4 miles and then had one beer on the patio. Getting a bit too cold for patio beers...
Wednesday (19,886 steps) - Work from home. Was inspired early in the day to try a new pot roast recipe in the crock pot. Good thing, apparently it takes forever to cook!
It looked much better after it was done, but apparently no picture of that
Ariel and I took Pika down to Denver to run with our old run club at Roost. After 4 miles we were treated to Biden winning / Dave's birthday cupcakes and Kahlua hot chocolate. Soooo nice to see people I haven't seen in ages, and I love that they bring camp chairs and socialize outside safely.
Thursday (11,946 steps) - Work from home. Ben's surgery was scheduled for 1:30, with him needing to check in at 1. I had to run by the office to get some work done on the way down (because of course the surgery center was over 45 minutes away). After all that, his surgery ended up being delayed nearly FOUR HOURS. WTF. I went to pho for lunch, went for a very long walk, then watched nearly a half dozen episodes of "The End of the F**cking World" in the car.

Finally, after 8:30, Ben was wheeled out and we headed home, picking up pizza on the way. A's friend Rachelle was over for the weekend (she is the only friend she has been socializing with since quarantine started) and the girls were super loud and giggly all night.
Friday (11,593 steps) - Work from home. Took Pika for walks. We had happy hour on our porch and it was wonderful that in addition to Tyler, Jeramiah and Kristin and Doug came to share a beer. We were able to give everyone the details about our upcoming home purchase, which was fun.
Saturday (17,566 steps) - Slept in. It was incredibly windy all morning, and I was REALLY regretting that I had decided to meet Kristin for a run around lunch time. Took Pika with me, and we actually had a pretty decent run, the wind was not nearly as bad as we feared. Later, the girls decided to bake cookies:
I went to Dairy Queen to pick up a cake for A's birthday! It's crazy that she is now 15 years old. 15!? How is that even possible? Ben made burgers and sweet potato tots for dinner before we dug into the cake.

Ben and I stayed up and watched the newest Terminator movie, which actually wasn't nearly as terrible as I thought it might be.
Sunday (32,908 steps) - Up early to go to Boulder. Met Kristin, Tyler and Jeramiah for a run. The trails were incredibly deserted, I guess most people don't like to start runs at 7 am in the winter? The trails were actually in really good shape, and I felt... not bad. There were some icy sections on the way back, and I had one fall from sliding, but nothing terrible. The wind really picked up the last few miles, we were definitely glad that we had started earlier and weren't spending all 12+ miles in gale force winds.

Ben made mountain breakfast, but outside of that I can't remember anything else from the weekend. Sigh.
Monday (12,113 steps) - Work from home. Pika walks. Tokyo Joe's had sent me a free entrĂ©e coupon for my half birthday, so I cashed that in.
Rachelle finally got picked up --- quiet ensued!

Stats:
  • 123,690 steps
  • 24.4 miles run
  • No cross training

Week in Review (November 3 - November 9)

Tuesday (11,603 steps) - Work from home. Ben and I went to look at two houses at lunch and weren't impressed with either of them. House hunting is not fun! Nothing exciting other than refreshing all the news sites all day for election results. Ariel, Pika and I met up with Tyler, Kristin and Jeramiah for a run at the lake - which Tyler cleverly called the "Ballot Buster 5k." A really beautiful night!

We stayed up a bit watching the election coverage and decided nothing exciting was going to happen so we were all in bed by maybe 10.
Wednesday (11,482 steps) - Work from home. Still no official election results! Pika walk at lunch.
Thursday (12,512 steps) - Work from home. With Ben working, I went alone to look at houses during lunch. Out of the three I looked at, there were two that weren't bad. Of course that one went under contract that evening. Ugh. Pika walk before dinner. (Have I mentioned how much I hate how early it gets dark now?)
Friday (14,220 steps) - Had to work in the office in the morning to get some stuff done for Joyce. After work Ariel and I looked at three different houses since Ben was working. We liked two of them and decided the mid-priced one was the one we like and after talking to Ben decided we would put in an offer...
Saturday (32,805 steps) - Up early to run with Jeramiah and Kristin at White Ranch. Well, "run" may be too strong of a word. I definitely struggled on the climbs on the way out. The way down was a lot better, although we somehow got separated at a trail junction. I didn't have any phone service and Jeramiah and I waited over 20 minutes for Kristin before realizing she had gone the alternate way down.

On the way down, I overheard people discussing that Biden was officially named President Elect. Woot!! We officially put the offer in on the house we liked and spent the rest of the evening watching TV.
Sunday (8,256 steps) - We still had a house to look at in the morning, although we wondered why we were rushing out to look at a place at 9 am. After we looked at the house, which we didn't love, we drove done to Stone House in Lakewood to meet up with our Belmar friends for a socially distanced birthday party for Greg. (I can't believe we don't have any pictures). After that, we went to Over Yonder for beers. WHILE WE WERE THERE, WE FOUND OUT OUR OFFER HAD BEEN ACCEPTED! EEEEEEEE!!!! Pika walk and TV.
Monday (12,526 steps) - Work from home. Morning was spent with new house stuff! Got the inspection scheduled and dropped off my earnest money. Weather throughout the day got crappier. With Ben working, I got A to come on a walk in the evening with me. Brrrrrrrr.
Made a new recipe for dinner - chicken sausage with roasted veggies. It was delicious!

Stats:
  • 103,404 steps
  • 13.4 miles run
  • no cross training

Week in Review (October 27 - November 2)

Tuesday (7,110 steps) - Work in the office. I apparently did nothing else all day.
Wednesday (6,955 steps) - Work from home.

Exciting news... I signed my side of the papers for the sale of my townhome. Eeek!
Thursday (10,565 steps) - Work in the office. Buyers signed THEIR side of the documents - officially just a renter! (For now, anyway). Look at a house during my lunch break - wasn't impressed. Sigh. This is a great market for sellers, not fun at all on the buying end.
Friday (10,681 steps) - Work from home. Pika walk in the evening and finally saw an owl for the first time in ages.

Saturday (26,202 steps) - Up early to meet Kristin and Jeramiah in Boulder for a "run" up Green Mountain with the Dirty 30 group. There was very little running, but there WAS a ton of climbing. I didn't have the most fun with the terrain, but it was nice to be out with friends. Fun surprise was my old coach Terri being there. I haven't seen her since spring.

Ben and Doug met me and Kristin at 4 Noses.
Later, we took A to the park so she could hang go skating with a friend, then we all went to Kristin & neighbors annual Halloween gathering.
(This year, complete with lots of social distancing). Still fun!
Sunday (10,599 steps) - No recollection of the day. Assuming we went on dog walks.
Monday (10,815 steps) - Work from home. Nothing else.

Stats:
  • 82,927 steps
  • 8.2 miles run
  • No cross training

Week in Review (March 19 - March 25)

Tuesday  (12,786 steps) - Work in the office. Since Ariel is in France, I had to hire a dog walker for the first time in a VERY long time (l...
