What a difference a decade makes...

Yep. A decade. Ten years.

It was actually pretty tough to find any pictures of me at all. And most of the pictures that DO exist of me from then I'm wearing a big coat. (Like obligatory scenic pictures). What I'm about to share is totally embarrassing and humiliating. But at least I can look back on it and laugh?

Anyway.

Sometimes I think it's good to just sit back and remind yourself of who you are and how far you've come. The last week of the year always makes me nostalgic. So... for your viewing pleasure... this is me roughly ten years ago.

This set of pictures is labeled "Dancing With Myself" in my scrapbook. Oy. I especially enjoy the booty shot. Ouch.

Here is a more "flattering" shot of me on the Riverwalk in San Antonio:

Blah.

So I'm not one to do "resolutions" per se. I usually resolve year round to be awesome at anything I set my mind to. I try to maintain balance in my life and keep a positive outlook. Doesn't always work out, but January 1 is just another day.

Anyway, there really wasn't a point to this blog, but sometimes I try to remember what life USED to be like, and then I come across pictures like these and I'm reminded that I'm much happier and in a better place than I was then.

So the closest I come every year to a New Years Resolution is that I will be the best that I can be, and yes, that includes eating healthy and getting my butt to the gym. But I've been doing that for about 6 years now so it isn't really a resolution, now is it :D

  1. About the booty shot: you do look like you're having a blast there! :)

You're right: January 1st is just another day. Try the bucket list idea. ;)

  6. What I love about the pictures is that you can totally tell they are that transition from the 90s to "today". (That totally sounds like a corny radio slogan.) Hey, if you can't dance with yourself, why dance at all?? ;)

    You're so super awesome!

  7. Wow! It's like looking at two different people. And, actually, I guess you are a different person now, aren't you?

  8. At least you look happy in your older pictures. It makes me so sad to see people posting pictures of what they used to look like, when they look so SAD.
