Week in Review (November 5 - November 11)

Tuesday (19,192 steps) - Strength class during lunch. Milk Market run club! First experience (basically) running downtown in the dark from beginning to end. Run was... not great. I started out too fast and then had to walk a bunch in the second mile. Pizza and salad for dinner.
Wednesday (18,511 steps) - Core class during lunch. Runners Roost Boulder!
The group opted to do a run that didn't loop all the way back around the trail head, so Pika, A and I did our own run, opting to go up Skunk and down Bear. Oh my lord was there soooo muuuuuch mud when we got up higher. It ended up being a little comical, but geez.

Thursday (14,401 steps) - Berkeley Park walk around the lake with Pika and Ariel. Ben was finally able to join us for run club, although he mentioned that he was having some fairly severe calf pain when he ran by us. Back over to Goldspot for trivia! We ended up having a tie breaker for the win - turns out second place isn't THAT bad, we still got a small bar tab.
Friday (10,338 steps) - Core class during lunch. A had spent the night at Abby's, so Ben and I went to 4 Noses for happy hour and then to Torchy's for dinner - where we ran into Maria and her husband (that we didn't know live only about a mile from us!)
Saturday (39,442 steps) - Runners Edge! I was not looking forward to running on Big Dry Creek (nor running 14 miles). I showed up in a skirt and tee shirt while everyone else looked like they were running in sub zero temps. I chose wisely, it really heated up quickly. The first 8-9 weren't terrible, and I ran most of the way with Jen and Lisa. Mile 12 was about when the wheels started to fall off. Ah well, got all the miles done AND it was my longest run since Tahoe.
New tunnel art
Ran some errands on the way home while waiting for Ben to finish up his adventure of the day. Ariel wasn't getting dropped off until later, so I picked up Chipotle for lunch and then took Pika for a long walk.

Went to Dulce's for second Saturday/November birthdays! Zach made pizzas again, and it was a really fun night.
Zach, Greg & A - November birthdays!
Sunday (25,229 steps) - I managed to get up early to run 6 miles at the lake (that was pretty awful and also hot).

We drove over to Resolute to meet up with Maureen for the Five Alarm 5k. She still isn't able to run, so Pika and I walked with her and Colfax.

Had a few beers before going to the grocery store and heading home to throw stuff in the crock pot. Tyler came over for a bit, then we binge watched a few weeks worth of Walking Dead.
Monday (8,028 steps) - Apparently, nothing?

Stats:
  • 135,141 steps
  • 27.5 miles run (and already "taper" time... haha)
  • Three gym classes

Week in Review (March 12 - March 18)

Tuesday (15,745 steps) - Strength class during lunch. Factotum/Sunnyside run club! The run felt pretty hard, and I'm guessing it's because we did a LOT of squats during class. It also felt REALLY hot, and I was probably overdressed. Ended up running in my sports bra for half the run.
Very cool random "flower garden" in the park
After, we had special "Justin Timberlake" trivia. And crazy, we won AGAIN!! (Even though none of us really had any extreme knowledge of JT).
Wednesday (4,649 steps) - Bomb Cyclone 2019. Schools were cancelled, work was cancelled. I made 3 dozen cookies and breakfast.

Other than that, a load of laundry and watching a LOT of TV. Pretty sure we watched at least 4 movies and some other stuff. Had pho delivered when the roads cleared because I REALLY didn't want to leave the house.
Thursday (15,913 steps) - Schools cancelled again, only a 2 hour delay for me. Although honestly, by then, the roads weren't that bad and no one was out. My class at the gym was cancelled though because the trainer couldn't safely get downtown. Special run from Runners Roost in Boulder for the team kickoff! (Have I mentioned how much I am enjoying not having to run with a headlamp???)
I ran with Maureen & Colfax. Love the gear this year, the colors are fun! Snacks and beer, home fairly late.
Friday (13,183 steps) - I would have preferred to take my class during lunch, but I ended up getting roped into a meeting. Instead, I went to the gym at 6 am for the first time since last fall. Took both a core & strength class.
Hard to believe we had a blizzard 36 hours ago
Saturday (37,784 steps) - Runners Edge! I had looked at the forecast and saw that it was supposed to be 30 degrees when we started, so I wore a skirt and a thin long sleeve. At the last minute, I also threw on my Smartwool vest. Turns out it was 19 degrees when we started. Everything felt hard during this run (and I remembered a few miles in it was probably because I took that bonus strength class). I didn't have to take any unplanned walk breaks, but overall felt blah. It also didn't help that my long sleeve shirt chafed under my right arm??? Never had this happen with a long sleeve... actually had to take my shirt off to try to keep it from getting worse. Was a bit cold for that.
Ate breakfast at Einstein's while waiting for our aid station pick up. Stopped at Roost Denver to say hi to people before going home to shower and get ready. Yogurtland on our way up to Ben's house. We met up at Angry James - where A and Ben played Connect 4, and then we all played some Apples to Apples.
Usual tradition of liquor & grocery stores before picking up pizza. Managed to get a dog walk in before it got dark.
Sunday (8,679 steps) - Slept in. Bacon & cinnamon rolls for breakfast.
One guess what the dogs are hoping for...
Took Pika for a walk, helped Ben with his AirBnb and then went to Outer Range.  It was a gorgeous drive so I actually had to pull over and get some pictures. Ben is so lucky to live in such a pretty place!

Cala Inn for an "Irish" dinner.
Bangers, mash & beer...
Took all three dogs for a walk around sunset. In bed pretty early.
Monday (9,497 steps) - 4 am wake up call to drive home before work. Went to core class during lunch. Pretty tired the whole day. Nothing else!

Stats:
  • 105,450 steps
  • 20.4 miles run
  • 4 classes at the gym and dog walks

Week in Review (January 29 - February 4)

Tuesday (13,541 steps) - Strength class during lunch. Went to the Sunnyside run club again. We did a different route this time, and thankfully Sabrina stuck with us so we didn't get lost. It was pretty icy, glad I didn't fall. Had a ton of fun playing trivia after - Greg is the smartest person ever and our team was the overall winner!
Yes, this is a donut on top of my beer
Wednesday (17,514 steps) - Core class during lunch. Boulder run club! Wanted to run some trails, but not long, so A and I drove to the trail head and met the group.
Pretty sunset!
Trails were in pretty decent condition, although I struggled quite a bit (surprised to see I still got some segment PR's...) 4ish miles and last run before Rocky!
Thursday (10,478 steps) - Nada. We met Ben at 4 Noses for pizza (which was super good) and a few beers. In bed early(ish).
Friday (7,210 steps) - See Rocky recap
Saturday (116,466 steps) - See Rocky recap
Sunday (79,063 steps) - See Rocky recap

Monday (6,824 steps) - I actually slept until 8:30. Good call to tell work I'd be in late. Ended up being a pretty busy day. Picked up A's Girl Scout cookies and pho for dinner.

Stats:
  • 251,096 steps
  • 109.8 miles run
  • 2 gym visits

Week in Review (September 2 - September 8)
