Week in Review (September 8 - September 14)

Tuesday (15,685 steps) - Since it was a holiday and I ran twice on Monday, I did not do the video of the day. So in the morning I was treated with Monday's video - a butt/thigh with HIIT cardio thrown in. Dead. Had to double up for the day to get caught up on the schedule. Luckily it was a pretty fun upper body strength / yoga video. Exhausted.
Wednesday (17,152 steps) - HIIT cardio and abs. This was one intense workout. My abs hurt, my legs hurt, well... everything hurts (I guess that means it's working?) It's called "abs on fire" for a reason. I left work early because I finally FINALLY got my new place!!! A busy night of starting to move the smaller things.
No longer homeless!!!
Thursday (26,956 steps) - Cardio intervals and upper body. Turns out that I probably could have skipped this one as I spent the day moving furniture and boxes and got a pretty good workout.
Friday (22,306 steps) - Skipped the morning video. Got the most sleep I've had in weeks and was way too exhausted. Took A to school and then spent the rest of the morning unpacking and putting together A's bookcase.
Pretty impressed with myself for building this
LONG DAY. We had pizza Friday for the first time in months and spent the night in our new place. A long time coming.

Ignore the mess...
Saturday (39,905 steps) - Ran the Arvada Harvest Run half marathon. The race used to be known as a 9/11 Remembrance race, but with it coinciding with the harvest festival and parade the name changed. TOUGH race for me, exhausted with all the moving.
Went home for a quick shower and then took A to a birthday party. After that another quick drive home to unpack for a bit and get ready to go see "The Book of Mormon" with Jessa. We went to dinner and had a great time. Such a funny show if you haven't seen it.
Sunday (20,600 steps) - Also known as the day of unpacking and trying to get everything put away. Only left the house for groceries and a few random items. Was up well past midnight trying to get everything put away, which sadly, I didn't get finished. Too much stuff!!
Monday (20,209 steps) - Rude awakening having to go back to work. And way too tired to do my video in the morning. Did a HIIT cardio and butt/thigh strength video - which I really liked (with the exception of the "oz" jumps). More unpacking, cleaning and organizing - I was up until 1 am!
Now that A has robot capris she joined me in a matchy matchy workout!!
Stats:

  • 162,813 steps
  • 13.1 miles run (yep, just the one race...)
  • 121 minutes of cross training (other cardio/HIIT)
  • 30 minutes of strength stretching
Everything Else:
  • Obviously the entire week I have been absorbed with the move. I am so happy to be back in my own space! Of course since I packed in such a hurry there are still a lot of things that I cannot seem to find. As of Monday night I was probably 90% unpacked. Can't wait to be able to actually RELAX.

Normal (Week 9)

Tuesday - Planned to run. Made it a little over two miles and just wasn't feeling good so I stopped. Did the arms/core videos. Not ready to jump back into the leg video yet!
Wednesday - Oh hey. NOTHING. Another trip to Yogurtland.
Thursday - Again, tried to do a run (I mean, RnR Denver was so great, I could SURELY replicate that?) - made it about 3.5 miles and quit. Blah. Finally FINALLY did the video trifecta (legs, arms core) - hard, but not quite the WORST.
Friday - Nothing. EXCEPT, I went out with co-workers for drinks and then went to The Asylum haunted house! I have only been to one EVER, and it was like 10 years ago. I was disappointed, it was not scary at all. At least there was no line? And, I'm the most fun ever:

Saturday - Slightly hung over, I got up and went to the gym (instead of racing the first Halloween half marathon the Denver area has had, waaaaaah). I fueled with a pumpkin donut and then knocked out a solid 10 miles while watching another zombie movie:

I finally broke out my last pair of "new" Newtons. Maybe I'll keep them  as treadmill only shoes so they last longer? Also, I love the INKnBURN robot capris so much. Took the kids to see Despicable Me 2 - which was HILARIOUS.

Sunday - I had originally planned on getting up early and possibly running 6-8 miles at Marshall Mesa. Then my alarm went off and I decided to stay in bed. Instead, I spent the day EATING ALL THE THINGS. Oh, I did walk a mile on the treadmill and do the arms/core videos. Took the kids to see Turbo, it was pretty cute. I later took A roller skating:

in line for the limbo
Monday - 5.8 pretty decent miles on the treadmill, again while watching zombie movies.

Gain - 1.8 pounds
  • I shouldn't really be surprised by this. I ate ALL the things again this week. My appetite that seemed to disappear all summer is certainly back with a vengeance.
Red velvet pancakes are THE BEST
Everything Else:

  • Ariel wrote this as one of her writing assignments. I found it cute, accurate and hilarious:
  •  Work, work, work. LAME, LAME, LAME.
  • As I said last week, I give up on the whole online dating thing. The last guy that I had gone out with said he still wanted to talk, blah blah blah. Then he asked me out AGAIN, after I already told him I wasn't wanting to date right now and since I told him no that last time I haven't heard from him since.
  • I hate hate hate how dark it is right now. Makes it hard to get out of bed and go to MY STUPID CRAP JOB that I dislike so much.
  • Gloomy and sad right now. Holidays are approaching and I am REALLY not looking forward to being by myself. Wah. I guess the silver lining is ALL THAT MONEY I WILL SAVE HAVING NO ONE TO BUY FOR.
BLAH.

Normal (Week 6)

Tuesday - 5.5ish on the treadmill, video trifecta (legs, arm, core)
Wednesday - 6 on the treadmill
Thursday - Mile with A at Lake Arbor, testing out the new INKnBURN Halloween line!

How is it getting dark so early??? :(
Friday - Nothing, and then more nothing.
Saturday -Managed to get babysitting so I could get in one more longish run. I met up with Hope and Runner's Edge to run the Highline Canal. Did you know it was FREEZING since we had SNOW on Friday??? Look at the frost!! Chilly, CHILLY 8 miles. I had never run down there and it was BEAUTIFUL. Fairly flat, soft dirt/gravel, none of it was paved. LOVED this, wish it was closer to my house!

A giant disappointment was that it seems the INKnBURN pants are too big. Waaaaah. I wore the pirate pants and spent the ENTIRE run pulling them up. There is no drawstring and they would NOT stay put. So freaking bummed.

Hope gave me a cool gift (because of my rage issues apparently):

I used it a decent amount over the weekend while driving. After the run, I met up with L and we went to get donuts at Lamar's. We did NOT have to wait an hour and they were much better than Dunkin'... (sorry, Dunkin', I'm not over it yet).

THEN, I met up with a co-worker to pick up our other co-worker's son to babysit for the remainder of the weekend. I KNOW, what was I thinking? He got to hang out with me while A had her gymnastics meet:

Everyone survived day one.

Sunday - I had hoped to get in a short run but it was NOT HAPPENING with ALL OF THE KIDS. We went to the park and I took the kids to see "Planes," which was pretty cute. LONGEST DAY OF MY LIFE, but all the kids survived again.
Monday - 4.75 on the treadmill, progressive. Not the worst ever. Considered doing the videos, but I was really tired, so instead, I went to bed early.

Gain - 1.8 pounds
  • Pizza. Burgers. Fries. Beer. Donuts. And more pizza.
Snickers Long John!!
Other Updates
  • So remember that one time that my boyfriend moved out and I had a substantial decline in income? Well... I was relying on my credit cards to get some stuff paid and before things got too out of control, this happened:
  • Being on a tighter budget and having to watch every single penny is THE WORST. I really hate that 5 years ago I was bringing home almost double the money. It is so hard being a single parent and having to budget for lame things like going to get lunch once a week at Tokyo Joe's. Someday, I hope this will not be an issue :(
Online Dating Updates
  • None.
  • I think I just don't care right now. I guess I'm past that weird annoying needy stage. Honestly, I don't have time for it anyway. I barely can get through my day between work and the gym and A. I don't have time to try to deal with dating someone.
  • Related: Did you know that it is A LOT OF WORK getting to know someone, trying to make a date, meeting up with someone, etc.? Exhausting.
