Week in Review (May 22 - May 28)

Tuesday (14,154 steps) - Up at 3:55 so I could be on the shuttle by 4:30 to the airport. Since I had my trekking poles with me I had to check my bag. The lines were long at the KLM counter, but it moved fairly quickly and I was through security in no time. The Budapest airport does a funky thing where they don't announce the gate you'll be at until about 45 minutes before it pushes back. So while I was waiting I sat in the food court and ate my bagel with peanut butter. The flight to Amsterdam was uneventful. Out of every connection I had, this was the tightest! I stopped briefly to pick up Sbux city mugs for Ruth, the only stop I made in the airport. By the time I got through passport control & Delta's customs, through the gate, I was on the plane with just 8 minutes until we pushed back. Eeek! I sat next a pleasant woman from Kansas City, and we chatted occasionally through the flight. Mostly, though, I was watching movies. This flight I watched I, Tonya, The Commuter, dozed off a bit during Murder on the Orient Express, Happy Death Day, and part of Dirty Dancing. We landed on time in Minneapolis, and customs there was about as seamless as I've ever been through. Certainly better than when we came through New York last year. The only middle seat I had was on this flight. I watched another movie on my phone, and once again, we landed on time. By the time we deplaned and I got to baggage claim my bag was already there. I was dropped off at my car shortly after 4. Home by 5:10. Immediately threw my disgusting race clothes in the laundry. Once A got dropped off we went to Red Robin for a belated birthday dinner, stopping at Kneaders for cake on the way home. I barely made it to 8:30 before I crashed. Longest day ever.
Wednesday (17,330 steps) - Runners Roost Boulder! Special run club with a BBQ provided by Saucony, so thankfully, we had a modified trail run that didn't go up into the hills. Actually not the worst run, considering what I had done over the weekend.

We stuck around until about 8. Had to stop at Target on the way home because A decided she needed tights to wear for her continuation.
Thursday (10,225 steps) - A's last day of 6th grade! How did this happen??

We opted to skip run club so that we could go out to dinner to celebrate her last day of elementary school.
Friday (10,965 steps) - Barre with Kelly! Extra tough, since it was my first class in 12 days! Dropped my car off at the dealership for brakes, and got a call later in the evening that I had a gash in the sidewall of one of my tires. OF COURSE I DO.
Saturday (13,313 steps) - Team run at 8:00 in Lone Tree. A decided to walk with Ang and I ran with Mo. It was insanely hot, and we all struggled.

Stuck around at the store until almost noon, socializing and eating. Arrived at the dealership to pick up my car and THE TIRES HAD NOT BEEN CHANGED. Urg. We ended up having to sit there for over an hour and a half while they got the work done. Such a pain.
Sunday (10,366 steps) - FINALLY got a great night's sleep, over 10 hours! Went to barre at 9:30. After lunch we went up to Runners Roost Boulder to help out with the last minute Bolder Boulder packet pick up.
"volunteering"
Monday (18,469 steps) - Bolder Boulder!! (Recap to follow). We got back to the store just after 12:30. We went to Under the Sun for food and drinks, until about 3:00.

Stats:

  • 94,822 steps
  • 16.7 miles run
  • 2 barre classes

Week in Review (February 27 - March 5)

Tuesday (8,904 steps) - Barre with Kelly. GABI WAS IN CLASS!! I heard a rumor that she was coming back to teach, and it appears to be TRUE!! Cookie booth after school/work, so no run.
Wednesday (17,862 steps) - Roost Boulder run club!

My legs felt like lead. Probably not the smartest to take barre classes two days in a row after a 10-day break. Back of the pack again, but it was a fun night on the trails. Under the Sun after for the finale of Stout month and our last night selling cookies there.
Home late. Again.
Thursday (13,310 steps) - Found out after I had already taken A to school that I would need to be picking her up after school, so she came back to the office with me. Belmar run club!
The park is STILL closed, so we had to just do an out and back on Alameda. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but still tired.
Friday (8,488 steps) - Barre with Sasha. Went to lunch with Jessa. Went to Berkeley Park for the Friday speaker series. It was a great event, and we were able to have "dinner" there (snacks) so I wouldn't have to cook at home. Finally got packed.
Saturday (10,764 steps) - 2 mile run with A by the lake.
Loaded up the car and drove down to the French Press for Jeff & Kevin's baby shower. We were only able to stay about 40 minutes, but it was great to see everyone. Then, it was on the road for Moab. We stopped in Fruita at a new brewery - Copper Club. It was nice and sunny, but way too windy for the patio.

Opted for the scenic drive in, and stopped at Fisher Towers, although we had no plans of doing the full hike, mainly because of the crazy wind.

Drove into Moab, got gas, then dinner at the brewery. Checked into our hotel, then it was some downtime of tv. I had the hardest time falling asleep, as the walls were paper thin. Probably midnight before I dozed off.
Sunday (33,574 steps) - Moab spring trail run!
We started the drive back to Denver at 11:30. I was really hoping that we would beat the forecasted storm, as I wasn't sure how Lucy would do in the mountains with snow/ski traffic. Sadly, we hit bad weather by the time we got to Fruita. The next 5 hours was spent in ugly snow/wind on the highway. Thankfully, there were no major wrecks or accidents. We had to stop at the grocery store, then picked up Torchy's for dinner. Walking/Talking Dead.
Monday (7,216 steps) - Barre with Karen. We had our last cookie booth of the season - which was miserable with FORTY (yes, 40) mph winds. Great news is that she exceeded her goal of 750 boxes, selling a total of 1,062. Woo hoo!!

Stats:

  • 100,118 steps
  • 24.4 miles run
  • 3 barre classes and a hike!

Week in Review (January 23 - January 29)

Tuesday (12,371 steps) - Spelling Bee at A's school! She didn't win, but she did make it to the 6th round this year, which was one round further than the kid that won when she was in 3rd grade (also her age). Very proud of her, and she seemed pleased with her performance.
Met up with Ang and Dulce at Sloan's Lake to do a 5K to help Ang get her medal for completing the virtual Polar Bear 5K. Slow going and it was pretty cold by the time we got done.
Wednesday (18,421 steps) - Roost Boulder run club!

With John gone, the super intense people are picking tough routes! This route had us going straight up Bear Canyon, with a little loop (I think) in Fern Canyon. It was still super snowy, and Kristin, A and I were in the very very back. At the last meet-up we opted to turn around, with Phil joining us. We still got in 6.5 pretty tough miles. A won a Roost beanie in the raffle (I won too, but there wasn't prize I wanted, so I gave it away to the next person). Southern Sun after to share a grilled cheese and for me to have a beer. Criminal Minds, bed.
Thursday (10,831 steps) - Belmar run club! I had 5 miles on schedule, but didn't have enough time. Did the big loop with Samm and Dulce and then the little loop solo.

Actually felt mostly good the whole time. Could there possibly be a light at the end of the tunnel? I'm so tired of feeling crappy.
Friday (10,635 steps) - Barre with Sienna because Sasha was out sick. Not my favorite class. Warm up was weird and I did NOT like using the gliders while in flat-back chair. Just no. Walk around the lake for our Strava streak mile, although we ended up jogging some because it was so incredibly windy.
Saturday (31,895 steps) - Runners Edge Broomfield. A walked 9 miles with Pete and Janet (she still isn't feeling 100%) and I ran 14. The first 10 or so weren't terrible, but miles 11-13 were not my favorite.
This is the awesome pace group I run with!
Apparently the only picture I took during my run?
Grocery shopping and cleaning. Went to Ducle's house for another friend family (breakfast for) dinner, complete with mimosas!
Sunday (16,880 steps) - Met up with Jandy at New Terrain for a run at North Table - she had never been there! We did 5ish miles. Legs were tired and the trails were pretty muddy, but a fun time.

Got breakfast at Big Daddy Bagels before going home for EVEN MORE CLEANING. We are pretty much done at this point, just a little bit of stuff here and there. So awesome.
Monday (8,488 steps) - Walked around Lake Arbor to get our one mile walk in. Nothing else.

Stats:

  • 109,521 steps
  • 34.9 miles run
  • 2 barre classes

Week in Review (October 3 - October 9)

Tuesday (9.971 steps) - Barre with Sasha.
Wednesday (13,684 steps) - Runners Roost run club! The run started late so we opted to only do the big loop around the school (with a little bit added on) for just under 3 miles total. I demoed the new Brooks Levitate shoe and actually liked it! I probably could have laced them a bit better because I had some spots that rubbed, but overall, a decent shoe! A ran with Pete and I ran with Janet - fun times! The most exciting part was that I won another grand prize raffle! Looks like A and I will be doing some indoor skydiving soon.
Thursday (14,152 steps) - Berkeley Park run club! Once again A decided that she would hang out with Sully at the store. I had plans to maybe run around just Berkeley Lake, but then I was feeling pretty good so I ran around both. Fastest run in ages! (Cool temps I'm sure help).
The theme for run club was a GABF, so we had our own mini-GABF. We all brought in a bomber and sampled different beers. Fun night!

Friday (11,242 steps) - Barre with Kelly.
Saturday (14,131 steps) - Luckily, Runners Edge's run overlapped with the community/team run at the Runners Roost store in Lone Tree. We had the 7.5 mile turnaround aid station, but neither of us wanted to run that far.

A and I decided to just run to the first aid station and then head back - hopefully seeing our teammates before they all headed out. We ran just over 4 miles and sure enough, got back to the store with enough time for some hellos and a team picture.
We spent HOURS at the store - luckily it was a breakfast potluck, so we had plenty of food. Lots of raffles for both Runners Edge and the team. Between the two of us we won a box of Honey Stinger waffles and a pair of Smartwool socks.
We rushed to pick up our aid station at 10:45, ran home to change clothes and then over to Berkeley Park for their first gear swap. Sadly, it was an afternoon of standing around and not offloading anything except a few running skirts to Kristen. We did, however, make enough money for Torchy's for dinner!
Sunday (28,417 steps) - Louisville trail half marathon.
After the race we headed into Boulder to visit the Roost and pick up my free pair of Asics. I didn't like any of the pairs I tried on so I ended up giving my free shoes to a random lady who was trying some on. Decided to go to the Southern Sun for brunch and to get a beer (there were some new dark beers on tap from the GABF!) We played scrabble AND I FINALLY BEAT A AT A GAME.
Put some chili in the crock pot and went to barre with Heather.
Monday (5,511 steps) - FIRST SNOW OF THE YEAR. Womp, womp. Thankfully, with it being Columbus Day there wasn't a ton of traffic so my commute wasn't a nightmare. Skipped the run at New Terrain because it was snowing heavily and we weren't in the mood. As you can tell by steps, I pretty much didn't move all day.

Stats:
  • 97,108 steps
  • 23.6 miles run
  • 3 barre classes

Week in Review (September 8 - September 14)

Tuesday  (13,883 steps) - Peloton ride and Olive walk before going to work in office. Went to the gym at lunch and did some strength trainin...
