Week in Review (October 13 - October 19)

Tuesday (11,454 steps) - Up early for a Peloton ride. Did a live class since it was a milestone for me and I ACTUALLY GOT A SHOUT OUT!! Technically, I got two of them - thanks Bradley Rose! (And the best part is this was a good class I would actually take again. Walk with Olive before going to work. Gym at lunch for strength and a treadmill hike. Olive walk after I got home from work. Ben picked up pizza for dinner, yay! More Carrie (this show is actually quite crazy).
Wednesday (15,812 steps) - Olive walk before going to work. It was chilly and drizzling. I didn't have it in me to figure out a good hill for my workout, so I moved things around again and just did my run near work. Not too bad!

Also got my Pilates video done after that. Not in the mood for another walk with Olive when I got home because it was raining pretty heavily. Finale of Carrie!
Thursday (16,007 steps) - Only a short walk with Olive. Had to drive to Black Canyon to pick up Ariel while her car was getting worked on. Later I had to drive her back and then go directly to my dentist appointment. Did my run at lunch, with Ben joining for the first 20ish minutes, which was nice. Hill repeats I had not done on Wednesday. I don't know that this was quite steep enough of a hill, but I felt strong and it was a good workout.
Another quick walk with Olive. Robin was ready for pick up, which I did after work. Didn't realize we were getting ceramic footprints (we got two of these hearts) and little vials with her fur. :( : ( :(
Lawn people came by to blow out our sprinklers for the season and after that we went to Torchy's for normal Thursday date night. Managed to catch a new show on Peacock, Crystal Lake. This is a prequel to the Friday the 13th movies.
Friday (11,304 steps) - Our first very cold morning of the season. Ben went with me for an earlier morning walk because I didn't want to be out in low 30's with wet hair. Olive and I went to work and took her for an early walk because I had multiple signings in the afternoon.

Took Olive for another walk when I got home. Tyler stopped by to borrow some drop bags and we made plans to run together in the morning. Dinner and Crystal Lake.
Saturday (27,184 steps) - Wish we were able to sleep in, but the animals just don't allow it. Took Olive for a walk and headed out to meet Tyler in Golden for our jaunt up Chimney Gulch to Lookout. Probably a bit beefier than I should have done, but it was a nice morning and I am not sure I have ever gone all the way up to the top from town.

Turns out Ariel was at the house doing homework, so we headed that way. After a quick shower we went to Corona's for lunch.
Took Olive for a longer walk, and then it was couch time. Finished up Crystal Lake.
Sunday (15,500 steps) - I had originally planned on doing some things around the house and going for our hike later, and I got a few things done while Ben and Olive went to Dutch Bros. Up to Boulder for our favorite loop.

On to Rails End, which we haven't been to in a while. Tyler joined us and we ordered in Fuzzy's for a snack, although I basically had a full meal. Took Olive for a short walk and gave up on being productive. Decided to re-watch the early Friday the 13th movies (got through the first couple) and Crystal Lake did a really good job of matching up a lot of things.
Monday (23,394 steps) - Walk with Olive to the lake before starting the work day.
In between work things I vacuumed, cleaned the bathroom, did laundry and gathered most of my stuff for the weekend. Went for my run at lunch, a pretty easy workout. Another awkward picture trying to get my Halloween shorts in the picture. I

Another walk with Olive. After work we went to Costco to pick up a few things and grab a pizza for dinner. Finished up through the third Friday the 13th until we could no longer find them for free on any of our streaming services and started the original Scream movie.

Stats:
  • 120,655 steps
  • 25.26 miles run
  • 15.75 miles walked
  • 20 minutes of cardio
  • 45 minutes of strength
  • 0 minutes of sauna

Week in Review (September 29 - October 5)

Tuesday (11,904 steps) - Peloton and Olive walk before going to work. Work was uneventful. Went to the gym at lunch for the StairMaster, strength training and a walk on the treadmill.
Ben had gone to Costco while I was at work to get groceries and pizza for dinner. Took Olive for a walk and then it was time to finish up our Yellowjackets!
Wednesday (20,194 steps) - Olive walk before going to work. Had hoped to walk with Paula at lunch but she ended up having a last-minute meeting. Still went out for a bit. Left work a few minutes early and headed to Arvada so I could do my workout. I had planned to park at the reservoir where I have parked before and suddenly noticed there was a sign that it was paid parking?? I couldn't figure out anywhere else close that I could park, so I pivoted to a different part of the reservoir and started in a neighborhood. It was overcast, but thankfully did not rain on me. Felt pretty strong on my hill repeats!

Headed home and Ben had dinner ready. We started a new show, Neagly, a spinoff of Reacher.
Thursday (21,610 steps) - Olive walk to the lake before starting work.
Went for my run not too long after that since Ariel was coming by for lunch and I wanted to have my workout out of the way.
Quick Peloton and some strength training.
She wants to be downstairs with me while I workout but gets so bored
Olive walk around the block before we went to Costco to drop off her new glasses' prescription. Torchy's date with Ben, post-dinner walk with Olive and Neagly!
Friday (13,903 steps) - Woke up with a perfect sleep score!
With another random work from home day, walked Olive longer before clocking in.
Went to the library at lunch and walked Olive over by the canal. She was excited to be somewhere different.
Did some deliveries after work and then re-organized my dressers! Got these super cool dividers off Amazon and I can finally see what everything is.
Dinner and more Neagly.
Saturday (20,951 steps) - Up early to walk Olive before meeting Ariel in Golden for her homecoming 5k!
Dark enough for her glow in the dark necklace
Ariel wanted us all to run together - I just hoped I would be able to keep up! We picked up our bibs and then dropped our hoodies off our vehicles. Nice, indoor bathrooms, a picture with Blaster, and then we just had to figure out where the start line was - it was a different course than last year.
We took a few walk breaks, but it didn't feel nearly as horrible as last year.
At the turnaround on the bike path I nearly killed an old man when I tripped over something and stumbled to catch myself. I did end up leaving Ben and Ariel with about a half mile to go and managed to run up the whole hill to the finish. Oddly, I had the exact same finishing time as last year, but the course was about a tenth of a mile longer and my pace was faster (plus heartrate was almost 20 bpm lower).
Ariel and Ben finishing
Overall, pleased! Ariel had to head out right after because she had other things to do with her sorority. Ben and I went back to the finish so I could get Flappin' Flapjacks and finisher pictures with Blaster.

Blaster selfies are the BEST
Took Olive for a walk when we got home. Ben surprised me with tickets to the new Resident Evil movie. No spoilers, but it was VERY different than other movies. I did a few more deliveries in the afternoon, then Neagly.
Sunday (44,907 steps) - Another early morning. Took Olive for a walk and Tyler picked me up at 7 so we could go to Golden Gate for our last really long activity of the training cycle. I had planned the route, but other than a few races (last one being quite a few years ago), I haven't done much running out there, so it was basically a brand-new location for me. I was really surprised that Tyler actually stuck with me! I honestly did expect to be doing most of this alone. We seemingly were there in peak fall colors, so there were quite a few people on the trails, but nothing annoying. It was also very chilly when we started (low 40s), but was quite comfortable for the run overall. We hiked all the climbs and jogged anything "easier."

Other than a handful of navigation issues, this worked out very well! Once we got back into town with cell service I texted Ben for him to grab Olive and meet us at Resolute. We ended up getting lunch there and staying for the entire Broncos game, which they lost.
Once back at the house I took Olive for a walk and then we had more work to do on the toilet fixing project Ben had started. Finally got that done and we were able to sit and relax with an episode of Neagly. Long/short weekend.
Monday (20,673 steps) - Long walk with Olive before work.
Had a workout at lunch, which I really should have done earlier in the morning because it was almost 90 degrees!!! I have been using my Enduro for workouts since every activity drains my Fenix so fast. For the first time a workout did not load properly, so I was constantly looking at my watch to make sure I was doing all the steps (which thankfully, I remembered).
Overall, it wasn't bad though. Took Olive for a walk after - it was HOT. Did a couple of deliveries, pizza for dinner and then season episode of Neagly. And here is a random picture of Batman and Olive.

Stats:
  • 133,948 steps
  • 36.17 miles run
  • 17.7 miles walked
  • 60 minutes of cardio
  • 40 minutes of strength
  • minutes of sauna

Week in Review (August 25 - August 31)

Tuesday (13,772 steps) - Peloton and Olive walk before going to work. Gym at lunch for StairMaster, some strength training and a treadmill hike.
Another Olive walk after dinner and Criminal Minds?
Wednesday (29,707 steps) - Took a random work from home day since Joyce is still out. Took Olive for a walk to the lake before clocking in and another short walk at lunch. Had a workout, so went to North Table so I would have a hill for repeats. Thankfully it was a bit cooler than expected, but the repeats were REALLY tough - I should've picked a less steep hill!

Drove down the street to the bagel shop for a snack and to finish out the workday. Then headed over to Apex where I took a short walk before my volunteer shift of trail work started. I partnered with a gal named Sarah who hadn't done maintenance before, weather was cool and I was quickly reminded of how sore I get doing this!

Ben had ordered in Mod Market for dinner, and we barely had time to sit before it was time for bed already.
LONG DAY.
Thursday (20,999 steps) - Thanks to these eternally annoying meetings at work, I had to get up to run in the morning. I guess the run was fine, and I was lucky that I woke up before my alarm went off and started early because somehow it was longer than what I mapped out. Actually not bad.

Olive walk before driving to work. Waited a little longer to go to the gym in the morning for a quick workout in hopes of avoiding my boss, but NO, ran into her again in the locker room. Easy, quick full body workout. Stupid meeting at lunch.
Quick walk after around town and then took Olive for a walk when I got home. Took Robin to the vet after that for a follow-up. I wasn't sure if her abscess was healing well.
Since I had actually made an appointment we didn't have to see an ER vet, so it a). wasn't as much money, and b). we seemingly got more proactive advice. This doc seemed to think she was NOT too old for anesthesia/dental procedure and since they actually had an opening the next day for surgery, I snagged it. Unfortunately we would get a call a few hours later saying that they had messed up scheduling but could we do it Saturday instead? Usual trip to Torchy's for dinner.
Criminal Minds?
Friday (10,935 steps) - With Joyce being out and me having already told co-workers that Robin had a surgery scheduled, I decided to take another work from home day. Took Olive for a walk to the lake before logging in.
Another walk at lunch. Panda Express for dinner and another walk with Olive. Watched the livestream of UTMB!
Saturday (38,835 steps) - Up early to get Robin to the vet for her dental procedure.
Took Olive for a long walk while Ben went to Dutch Bros to get us much needed coffee.
We listened to the livestream of UTMB so we could hear/see the female winner cross. Inspirational! Up to Centennial Cone for the activity of the day.

We got the call from the vet probably 10 minutes into the run and had to stop to talk to him on speaker on Ben's phone since we had minimal service. Turns out the issue is NOT her teeth (he was going to take two out, but they were not the main issue). Apparently, she has a tumor on her jaw and he suspects it is bone cancer. With her age and other medical issues there isn't much to be done other than keep her comfortable. Did not ever think that would be the problem, poor Robin!

At some point Ben and I got separated, he had been having some cramping on/off, but we had planned for it, so I continued on.
Finished the loop and then went back to get him and finish up together. A relatively strong 15ish miles for me! We called the vet again and confirmed that by the time we got back to town that she would be ready for us to pick her up.
:(
After we brought her home we went to Corona's for lunch. The rest of the evening was spent taking care of Robin and watching UTMB, then some Criminal Minds.
Sunday (16,765 steps) - Olive walk while getting some things done around the house before going up to Boulder for our activity of the day.

Costco and binge watched "Death of a Pastor's Wife."
Monday (21,102 steps) - Olive walk to the lake before clocking in for the day. Went for my run late morning before it got too hot. Not terrible, and they rangers are closing more trails :(

Another walk to the lake at lunch with Olive. Ben made dinner and more Criminal Minds.

Stats:
  • 152,115 steps
  • 33.87 miles run
  • 20.36 miles walked
  • 40 minutes of cardio
  • 40 minutes of strength
  • 0 minutes of sauna
