Three Things Thursday

The Week of Whine

1. Remember my mysterious stomach ailment that popped up before my half marathon in New Hampshire? Well, it didn't go away like a normal 24 hour bug. Today is the first day I've felt like I could eat a bit without having cramps and wanting to vomit and/or die. I might survive.

2. The cold came back, full force, on Tuesday night. Imagine having the worst stomach ache of your life (complete with having the chills and aches and pains), and then add some congestion and coughing on top of that. I would not wish this on ANYONE. I went to the doctor yesterday, and she is certain it's all just "unfortunate" and a "coincidence" that all this happened at once. Man. I hope so.

3. Exercise? Bahahahahaha. I went to ONE BodyPump class on Tuesday. I struggled throughout, feeling like I was going to pass out. Other than re-arranging the furniture in A's room, that's the only exercise I've done in 4 days. I haven't even done a P90X workout.

Undecided what to do about this weekend. I have a local half marathon scheduled for Sunday. If it wasn't local I'd do it for sure, since travel would already be paid for. Local? I might just have to skip.

What a crap week.

  1. Yeah... sometimes? Your body might just be tired and want to hang out and watch tv and rest. :(

Maybe do the half for fun, don't race it, just run by feel and enjoy it.

    Feel better :D

  2. Whine away! You work yourself hard enough - you deserve it.

I've had a cold for a week and was at the doctor getting poked and prodded earlier. Ugh. I hate that. So I'm just going to enjoy your whining and commiserate with you!

  6. Feel better soon! Check how you feel today (friday) and then decide what to do with the race. Don't force anything. :)

  7. Participation in half marathons has grown steadily recently.[1] One of the main reasons for this is that it is a challenging distance, but does not require the same level of training that a marathon requires.

  8. Awww, I hope you get to feeling better! I think I'd skip out on the local race too. Sounds like your body needs some rest. :(

  9. I hope you feel better!

I just wanted to inform you for destination races organized by www.usrahm.com. I signed up for a race in PA and it was canceled a week prior! I know they can do that, but of course all my travel is already booked :( Wanted to let you know, since you do a lot of travel races :)

  10. Vadodara Marathon was a spectacularly successful event that stirred the city of Vadodara on a scale never reached before, ushering in vibrancy, uplifting the spirit of each and every Vadodarian and filling them with pride for their city. The spirit of participation and enthusiasm was un-believable during the 75 joyous days, in which the city came together amidst energetic zeal; proving that nothing can be bigger than the spirit of Vadodarians.
