Week in Review (October 27 - November 1)

Tuesday (13,756 steps) - A very foggy walk with Olive before going to work.
Traffic was horrible and I have to assume it was because of the fog - multiple accidents and it took forever to get there. Went to the gym at lunch to do a long recovery walk on the treadmill. Had to leave early to meet Ben at the vet. Olive is STILL itching nonstop and everything we have been trying is not working, and neither is the expensive allergy shot she got last month. This visit proved more helpful. After an exam and a skin scrape, it was discovered that she has SCABIES. The vet said in 35 years of practicing this is only the third case he has seen. Lucky us! Good news is we FINALLY know what is going on and there is a treatment for it. Not to mention it is species specific (she cannot spread to Batman) and also we don't have to burn down the house because mites are only alive while they are feeding - POOR OLIVE! Took her home and then Ben and I went to dinner at The Butchery. I haven't been to this restaurant since they used to be called the Old Neighborhood. They have relatively decent happy hour food specials and it was fun to go out to eat for once. Couch time and more Sheriff Country.
Wednesday (15,678 steps) - Olive walk before going to work.

Another trip to the gym at lunch for a walk on the treadmill. Went to Louisville for run club after work - with Ben meeting me there with Olive. Larry joined us for a walk. There was supposed to be a costume contest, but only me and Olive dressed up! And I have NO pictures of my costume.

Later dinner and more Sheriff Country.
Thursday (10,566 steps) - Thankfully, no jury duty. Took Olive for a quick walk before starting work for the day. Did some laundry, used the sauna for the first time since last winter and took Olive for a walk to the lake.
Torchy's with Ben after work and more Sheriff Country.
Friday (11,721 steps) - Olive walk before going to work in the office.
Lunch walk with Olive - a really nice afternoon. Afternoon was dragging by, so took Olive for quick second walk. Ben picked up a pizza for dinner, Sheriff Country.
Saturday (19,929 steps) - Colfax pancake run at the Denver Runners Roost. It was chilly and foggy when we arrived. I had enough time to use the bathroom and look for Christina and Mo. We started at the back since we weren't sure if Olive would be interested in running. She actually did really well!!
We only had to take a few walks breaks. Spent some time at the store afterwords chatting. Finally decided to head out when Ben started to look restless. Went to Resolute on the way home, then King Soopers to pick up a few groceries and Halloween candy. Since we had forgotten our ballots to drop off, I told Ben I was going to walk them over - he actually joined!

Walked home a different way and saw some fun Halloween decorations.

Then it was time to watch the Javelina livestream. CRAZY weather there this year - more rain and flooding. We had the porch light on for a few hours and actually had a decent amount of trick or treaters.
The constant doorbell ringing made her exhausted (plus 6 miles of fitnessing)
We did watch one episode of Sheriff Country.
Sunday (14,738 steps) - The animals let us sleep in until the crazy hour of... 7? Coffee and did some cleaning up around the house. I decided to go for my easy run early to get it out of the way. It was a gorgeous day and the run went really well!
When I got back we watched a bit more of the livestream, I took Olive for a walk to the lake and showered.
Then we went to Resolute for lunch and to watch the Broncos game.

This is Cosmo - he is a Maine Coon and he comes to the brewery!!
But also, WOW to the last couple minutes of that game! Sheriff Country - Ben and I both agree that we didn't have high hopes for this show, but it's actually pretty good.

Stats:
  • 86,388 steps
  • 5.65 miles run
  • 19.49 miles walked
  • 0 minutes of cardio
  • 0 minutes of strength
  • 25 minutes of sauna
After more than a decade I am changing my weekly recaps to be from Monday through Sunday instead of Tuesday through Monday. This all started because back when I was doing the "Not Eating All the Things" challenge, I weighed myself on Tuesday mornings. Anyway, that's the change, if you even noticed.
