Week in Review (May 5 - May 11)

Tuesday (47,369 steps) - Work from home.

After work I routed a non-repetitive loop so I could run the RMRR Virtual run for May. (Which I cleverly called, Virtual de Cinco de Mile-o, hahaha). It went better than expected and since the early section was on road I didn't have nearly the crowding as if I had stayed on all dirt.

I had ordered tacos earlier in the day to surprise Ben for Taco Tuesday/Cinco de Mayo. Unfortunately, it was an absolute disaster. First off, Torchy's menu is much smaller during quarantine. They also bit off way more than they could chew and were HOURS behind. So I had scheduled for a 7:30 pick up, and Ben ended up picking up on his way home around 8:30. After getting home, I realized they hadn't given us our queso, so we went back out. They were closing and had dozens of orders that were never picked up - they told us we could take as much as we wanted because they were just throwing stuff out anyway.

Wednesday (52,635 steps) -  Ran Tyler's loop again. I really like this run, especially during the week. First, I like that I'm not repeating anything, and also there seems to be WAY fewer people on it in general.
Pika walk!
Thursday (27,427 steps) - Worked a half day in the office. Rest day.

We are obviously anything but traditional, so when I was looking online a few weeks ago for stamp options, I came across these cool T-Rex stamps... which is what we ended up ordering to send out our Save the Dates... haha
Friday (38,063 steps) - Another rest day! We picked up beer from 4 Noses, and we were happy to see that they had some guest beers from Outer Range! We finally had a game night, and it was a lot of fun.
Saturday (39,973 steps) - Slept in, and was not sure what I had planned on running until I was actually out doing it. I was getting sick of even my normal long run routes, and did something completely different. Initially I thought I would just do my regular route in reverse to mix it up, but then I found myself on a detour and ran near my old 'hood. That was different and I really didn't see many people at all.

I also saw my first snake of the season! Ben and Ariel have been seeing them quite a bit, but this was a first for me. I almost missed him because he was slithering by as I crossed. Eeek.

Ben's mom has been sending Ariel art supplies and she made this adorable drawing with glitter gel pens.
Sunday (24,693 steps) - Mother's Day! I woke up unsure if I wanted to run, I wasn't really feeling great. However, the weather was pretty cool and Ben was planning on taking a rest day and making breakfast. I went out to run Tyler's loop, and about halfway through my back started hurting pretty bad. I had to do a lot more walking than planned, and I was feeling pretty bad by the time I got home.

Another great day for painted rocks!

When I got back, Ben and Ariel surprised me with some Mother's Day gifts. Ariel of course made me one of her amazing cards, and they got me flowers, cupcakes and more beer! Best gifts ever!

More Pika walks!

Monday (42,097 steps) - Work from home, and another rest day. My back was feeling pretty terrible and I didn't sleep well. I sleep on my stomach and for whatever reason, that made my back hurt even more. Ugh.
I thought this picture was funny - everyone wants treats!

Week in Review (April 28 - May 4)

Tuesday (35,666 steps) - Work from home. A not terrible run.

Pika walking at sunset!
Wednesday (36,576 steps) - Ran Tyler's loop, uneventful and not too many people, which is always nice. More Pika walking.

Thursday (23,552 steps) - I'm at the point where now that I went into the office once, people want me there a bit more. I went in again in the morning, but just for a few hours. Rest day from running, but Pika still needs walks.
Friday (35,699 steps) - Had to go in to work for about an hour, which was annoying, but a lot better than being there all day, especially when we have to wear masks inside now. More Pika walks!
I liked this rock, but "Seuss" is misspelled, and that irritates me
We picked up new beer from 4 Noses for happy hour at home.
Saturday (35,585 steps) - Slept in and had another long run where I wasn't really feeling that well.

Between my run and walking Pika, it was a pretty good day for finding painted rocks! I am not picking up and/or relocating any of these, I just take a picture of them. I think they are fun to look for and find.

THIS ONE WAS AWESOME! Especially with the googly eyes
We spent some time on the patio for the first time this year. Pika likes lounging outside. Kinda wish we had more space though.
Sunday (29,231 steps) - For the first time during quarantine, I was really getting tired of running by myself. I have been running with headphones in and zoning out, and finally, on this day, I found myself missing my training group. Not a great run, but I've had worse.

Monday (26,899 steps) - Rest day for running.

One thing I will say, we are really lucky to live where we do. We are able to get out and be on the dirt every day, and outside of the million people we encounter, it's pretty.

Also - today is Batman Sour's birthday! Happy 5 years to this tiny trouble-maker!

Week in Review (April 21 - April 27)

Tuesday (33,392 steps) - Work from home. A pretty long after work run of over 9 miles. Didn't intend to go that far, just kinda happened.

I think my favorite of all the rocks I have seen!
Itty bitty baby bunny!
Tried a new collaboration beer from 4 Noses/New Image and it was delicious! Not one I'll have with any regularity, partly because it was small batch, and also... 14%!!
Wednesday (28,468 steps) - Work from home. Ran "Tyler's loop" - another blissfully overcast day.

Thursday (14,958 steps) - Work from home. Rest day from running, but took Pika on walks.

Friday (18,522 steps) - First day of being back in the office since the last day I worked - March 13. It was definitely a little weird being there. Office is operating at just essential employees, so maybe 10-15 people (out of about 200). I was only in long enough to get all my "mandatory" work done, about a half day.
Look at all the filing that piled up...
With it being Friday, we journeyed to 4 Noses. Ben let me get a slushie, and it was my first time seeing one of the Colorado "alcohol to go" labels.
We finally got our save the dates in the mail!!! Very exciting stuff, and we spent a good portion of the evening working on our guest list and addressing them.
Yet another Pika walk.
Quarantine is going well enough that we are still doing things together as a family and not wanted to murder each other. So that's nice.
Saturday (45,541 steps) - Slept in much later than I used to on a weekend. Managed to get out around lunch time, and created a pretty big non-repetitive loop for the longest run I've done in a while.
My stomach was feeling a bit off, so was grateful for the bathroom at one of the trailheads. And it was a bizarre coincidence that when I came out, I recognized someone! I hadn't seen Ruth in ages, we talked for a few minutes and got a selfie together before I headed out for the rest of my miles.

Support small business Saturday was another visit to New Image brewing, and ALSO, we hit up the bakery in Olde Town, yuuuuum!
Sunday (22,484 steps) - Slept late. Was on the fence about running. Eventually decided to head out for a short run before our weekly gaming with Belmar folks. The run itself wasn't super spectacular, but for the first time I ran all the way up the big hill. Small victories!

Monday (24,006 steps) - Work from home. Pika walks!
